Kan-Arm Contracting Ltd. is a rapidly growing local contractor specializing in drilling, blasting and slope stabilization. Our head office is in Chilliwack, with current and future projects ongoing throughout British Columbia.
We are looking for a Health & Safety Administrator.
Daily Tasks:
Develops, maintains, and assists with creation and documentation of the health and safety program including safe work practices and procedures, hazard identifications, policies, and manuals throughout Kan-Arm companies.
Participates in regular workplace inspections, investigations and annual British Columbia Construction Safety Association (BCCSA) audits.
Investigates and maintains records of workplace accidents, incidents, new concerns, hazards and near-misses. Follows up with safety advisors and supervisory staff on close out of corrective actions.
Document verbal and written warnings as well as other progressive disciplinary actions as required and directed.
Coordinates and presents at staff Health and Safety Project/Yard Meetings and preparation including the agenda, arranging for presenters, videos, and other documentation as required.
Assists with preparation of documentation and conducts research for the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee and participates in meetings as a member of the Committee.
Reviews safety legislation, policies and procedures; monitors legislative and regulatory changes and initiates changes in workplace practices accordingly.
Manages health and safety orientation for new and transferred employees and contractors.
WSBC program compliance including reporting following incidents. Maintenance of the Company’s Return to Work program.
Ensuring all legislative and contractual safety requirements are met.
The coordination and facilitation of health and safety training needs for all employees.
Coordinate required in-house training for employees as required.
Maintain Health and Safety program.
Performs duties and participates in projects on a needed basis that support the operation of the health and safety program.
Communicate with staff about Health and Safety concerns.
Track company safety-related statistics and maintain pre-qualification platforms such as ISNet and AVETTA.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $28.00-$34.00 per hour
