Cafe Rouge On Bloor is an authentic French bakery and cafe located on Bloor Street West in the heart of the Kingsway Village, Toronto. Since 2014, we strive to deliver food that is fresher, finer, and with a perfect balance of authenticity and creativity.
About the Position
We are looking for a barista that is promotable to management responsibilties. The candidate will be a team player with significant experience as barista/bartender in a busy food service setting. They will have a passion for coffee, and a knowledge of wine. The candidate must possess a business sense, affinity for service and have outstanding emotional intelligence. They will be excited at the chance to grow the business and embrace challenges.
General Responsibilities
Serve customers with professional grace.
Opening and closing duties.
Support coffee menu planning and recipe development.
Act with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values and mission of Cafe Rouge.
Follow health and safety policies and provide management with feedback on how we can improve our processes to best ensure safety of all staff and customers.
Support all product and services at Cafe Rouge including food, pastry and merchandising
Demonstrate strategic understanding of food service operations by providing recommendations and executing (when necessary) ordering, inventory management, queue management.
Provide exceptional customer service by following standards and anticipating customer by constantly evaluating the environment and customers.
Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Experience within a speciality coffee program.
Able to build relationships within the industry; should be an active member of the Toronto speciality coffee community.
Has participated in growing a cafe.
Comfortable with hospitality software including POS, scheduling and purchasing systems.
Well-organized with an ability to oversee a team of staff and prioritize multiple projects effectively.
Curious and willing to learn; constantly pursuing personal development.
Collaborative consensus builder ; solicits feedback ; inspires and influences staff, consumers and other stakeholders.
Salary: $17.00 - $19.50 per hour. Plus tips, health benefits, profit sharing incentive plan.
Schedule: Weekdays and weekends as needed.
Experience: Required: 2 yrs barista. Preferred: 3yrs hospitality, 2 yrs bartender.
