There's a new restaurant coming to Truro! We are currently under renovations and look to be up and running the beginning of September.
Position Overview: We are looking for a skilled and charismatic Bartender to join our team. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for creating and serving a wide variety of beverages to our guests, ensuring exceptional customer service and a memorable bar experience. Your expertise in mixology, product knowledge, and interpersonal skills will contribute to the overall success of our establishment. The ideal candidate should have a passion for crafting innovative cocktails, strong communication abilities, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Greet guests warmly and interact with them in a friendly and professional manner.
2. Take drink orders from guests and provide recommendations based on their preferences.
3. Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, beers, wines, and specialty drinks, following recipes and ensuring consistency.
4. Use mixology techniques to create innovative and visually appealing cocktails that meet guest expectations.
5. Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including stocking and replenishing supplies, glassware, and ingredients.
6. Follow proper alcohol serving guidelines, ensuring responsible and safe serving practices.
7. Engage with guests, build rapport, and provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive bar experience.
8. Handle cash and electronic payments accurately, process transactions, and maintain a balanced cash drawer.
9. Collaborate with the kitchen and waitstaff to ensure efficient communication and timely delivery of food and beverage orders.
10. Stay updated on current beverage trends, new products, and industry regulations, making recommendations and adjusting the drink menu as necessary.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a Bartender or similar role in a high-volume bar or restaurant.
2. Strong knowledge of mixology techniques, drink recipes, and beverage service standards.
3. Ability to create visually appealing and innovative cocktails, showcasing creativity and attention to detail.
4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner.
5. Demonstrated ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
6. Thorough understanding of responsible alcohol service and compliance with legal regulations.
7. Basic knowledge of wine, beer, and spirits, including product types, origins, and flavor profiles.
8. Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures.
9. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required in the food service industry.
10. Positive attitude, passion for the hospitality industry, and a commitment to providing exceptional service.
