Accessible Van Driver
The Accessible Van Driver will provide transportation to individuals who are recipients of services through adVANtage and CHAP-CareLink Transportation services.

Job Duties
- Provide accompanied transportation to transportation service users as directed by the Transportation Coordinators, the Transportation Coordinator Lead, and/or the Community Support Services Manager.
- Assist transportation service users door-to-door, to and from the vehicle and assist with any mobility aids they may use.
- Collect payment from transportation service users unless alternate arrangements have been made.
- Completing and recording daily circle checks, maintain cleanliness, and report maintenance requirements of the agency vans.
- Complete daily inventory of transportation tote materials (gloves, envelopes, cleaning materials, etc.) and request additional items as needed.
- Ensure appropriate personal protective equipment is worn as needed.
- Report accidents or other traffic incidents to the Transportation Coordinators and/or Lead immediately.
- Report any client concerns or changes that need to be made en route to the Transportation Coordinators and/or Lead.
- To adhere to the high professional standards of the agency as outlined in the personnel manual.
- To perform other related duties as required.
Performance Factors
The following factors, among others, will be used by the Transportation Coordinator Lead and/or Community Support Services Manager in evaluating the performance of the incumbent annually:
- The degree to which services are delivered in accordance with agency philosophy, policies and procedures and funder guidelines;
- Staff morale, satisfaction and commitment;
- The quality and effectiveness of service delivery.
Requirements
- A valid driver’s license and clean driving record;
- A clear Vulnerable Persons Check (any subsequent changes must be reported to the Community Support Services Manager immediately);
- Availability to work flexible hours e.g. weekends, evenings, split shifts;
- Ability to work independently and to achieve deadlines on a daily basis;
- Attention to detail and strong time-management skills;
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and experience working with mobility aids;
- Proficiency in French Language an asset;

- An aptitude for working with seniors and persons with disabilities and/or vulnerable persons; &
- Core competencies as listed.
