In 2019, the DIY Court Canada brand was created to service homeowners and landscaping professionals who needed some assistance with building a professional backyard court. With an installation and logistics network across Canada, DIY Court Canada courts can be found coast to coast!
In 2020, City Hoops was established to offer existing clients a higher quality and better-functioning basketball hoop. You’ll now find our hoops across North America in local parks, basketball training facilities, and at your neighbour's home.

DIY Court Canada is looking for a Business Development Representative to join our sales team based in Mississauga, Ontario. Reporting to the VP, Sales & Business Development, you will promote DIY Court Canada's multi-sport athletic court products and services while generating new business opportunities for the division and supporting all sales activities related to the growth and expansion of DIY Court Canada.
As the BDR, you will play a critical role in generating new business opportunities for DIY Court Canada by qualifying leads, prospecting through existing business accounts, and engaging with potential new customers.
Roles & Responsibilities:
● Identify and generate new business opportunities by qualifying leads and prospecting new existing business accounts.
● Collaborate with VP, Sales & Business Development, and Sales Managers to identify residential, commercial, and corporate partnership leads and opportunities.
● Utilize sales tools, digital technology platforms, and resources to maximize lead generation and conversion.
● Develop a deep understanding of the DIY CC product, its value proposition, and target markets to effectively communicate with potential clients.
● Continuously refine and optimize outreach strategies to improve overall effectiveness and results.
● Utilize marketing resources and programs to define specific go-to-market strategies.
● Maintain accurate records of leads, prospects, and opportunities in the CRM system.
● Contribute to a positive team culture by actively participating in meetings, sharing insights, and supporting colleagues in achieving collective goals.
● Conduct market research on existing and potential new clients as well as analyze competition and emerging new product/service offerings.
● Representing the company with the utmost professionalism at all times.
Experience:
● University degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or relevant field (preferred).
● Proven work experience as a Sales Development Representative, Sales Account Executive, Business Development Representative or similar role in a B2C consultative selling environment.
● Understanding of Construction, Landscaping & Sports (Basketball, Tennis, Pickleball, etc.)
● A proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales/engagement / business growth- activity targets.
● Strong and professional communication skills (written, verbal, presentation).
● Strong business acumen and the ability to effectively interpret business information and use it to identify potential business development opportunities.
● Strong analytical skills and good working knowledge of MS suite of business applications/or Google, CRM Software LinkedIn, and other business research tools.
● Ability to manage conflict and effectively problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.
● Hands-on experience with multiple sales techniques (including cold calls) using virtual technology, such as video calls, MS Teams, Zoom, etc.
● Understanding of sales performance metrics.
● Drive, Determination, Team Oriented: a strong desire to compete and win.
● Strong time management skills and the aptitude to manage numerous requests and time demands concurrently.
● Hunter mentality with a high degree of initiative and self-motivation to achieve challenging goals.
● Relationship management skills with the ability to impact and influence all levels of customers.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $40,000.00-$50,000.00 per year
