JOB POSTING: ID Services Case Worker

POSITION: ID Services Case Worker
DAYS/HOURS OF WORK: 30 hours (full time) per week based on a four-day work week Mon – Thurs.
WAGE: $28- $30 - commensurate with experience. CSPC is a Living Wage employer. Generous extended health benefits, 4 weeks of vacation, and professional development are offered after successful completion of 6-month probationary period.
LOCATION(S): This is an office-based position in beautiful downtown Victoria (216-852 Fort Street, Victoria, BC). Travel to other locations and work in partner offices across the capital region may be required.
All employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Greater Victoria Coordinated ID Services serves three main functions: it streamlines the application process for people who need identification, promotes the use of safe ID storage sites, and supports community partners that offer ID services.
The ID Services Case Worker will support clients in navigating applications for various forms of ID (through the CSPC hosted online portal and on paper) and will work with local agencies to assure that our services are inclusive, accessible, and culturally humble. This role is part of the ID Services team and, in addition to providing excellent client support, will contribute to the expansion and improvement of the service.
The ID Services Case Worker may be responsible for any aspect of program delivery including processing applications for identification, ensuring applications are accurate and complete, helping clients navigate community resources, following up with clients who have identified additional support needs, and maintaining program-related reports and statistics.
CORE DUTIES:
- Supporting clients in understanding and prioritizing their identification needs
- Explaining the process of securing identification and how we can (and can’t) help
- Completing applications with clients, either through the online portal or on paper
- Helping identify additional client needs and working with service providers to create networks of collaborative support for clients
- Liaising with partner staff to coordinate services for mutual clients
- Following-up with clients and other service providers to ensure client needs are met
- Supporting the ID Services Project Coordinator in enhancing and expanding services
- Conducting case management follow up interviews and support with clients
- Conducting program evaluation interviews and providing input on data collection.
- Maintaining client and team confidentiality in records and communication
- Other related duties as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Requirements
- Credentials from a recognized post-secondary institution in Social Work, Human
Services, Health Sciences, or other related programs
- Experience providing services for at-risk and/or marginalized populations
- Ability to function effectively in difficult and/or crisis situations is required
- Comfort working online with strong computer and communication skills
- Driver’s license and reliable transportation
Assets
- Experience in a non-profit organization
- Knowledge of the local service sector, particularly of Indigenous-serving agencies and First Nations
- Training in trauma informed practice and cultural sensitivity
- Identifies as First Nations, Inuit, or Metis
- Experience and formal training in program evaluation
