The Pharmacy Manager works as a member of the BioScript Pharmacy team, collaborating in the patient-centric approach and a unique complement of services supporting the distribution and provision of complex drug therapies, whereby we support the patient through the dispensing of their specialty medications and coordination of their care. The Pharmacy Manager provides care within their scope of practice, competency, and experience within their province or territory of practice. Each individual Pharmacy Manager is responsible for ensuring their practice meets provincial or territory legislation and guidelines. The Pharmacy Manager reports directly to the Director of Operations.
The scope of this role includes clinical practice directly with patients, overseeing the general workflow of the pharmacy (including managing staff), and business/relationship development in the specialty space.
How you will make an impact
- Direct management of the pharmacy team;
- Oversee all day to day operations of the pharmacy, including workflow management, overseeing inventory and other processes, and controlling, preparing, and dispensing specialty medications;
- Collaborating with Pharmacy Operations to support new and existing initiatives/workflows;
- Act as the “face of BioScript” by building strong relationships with prescribers of specialty products and other stakeholders;
- Ensure excellence in all patient and stakeholder touch points;
- Enhance productivity within pharmacy staff by delegating tasks and overseeing the quality of work;
- Contribute to the Staff Pharmacist workflow;
- Ensure the pharmacy operates in accordance to the guidelines of the College of Pharmacists and Health Canada;
- Ensures documentation is completed and submitted during the shift, including Post Infusion Feedback Reports, Incident Reports, Adverse Event reports, Product Quality Complaints, etc. as per SOPs and general policies;
- Ensures pharmacy email is monitored and maintained daily, before, during and after shift (as required);
- Reviews new protocols/procedures/information and Communications regularly to ensure pharmacy practice is up to date;
- Promotes a healthy/safe working environment by reporting any concerns to Human Resources or Pharmacy Operations;
- Submits adverse event and product quality complaints as per adverse event reporting sop and individual program sops as applicable; and
- Ensures related duties required to achieve the Cold Chain standards for all Biologics and specialty drug products stored and shipped by the pharmacy are consistently and rigorously maintained.
What you’ll bring to our team
- Licensed to practice pharmacy in Manitoba;
- 1+ years’ experience as a pharmacist in Canada;
- Proficient in MS Excel, Outlook (Email), and Word;
- Exemplary customer service skills in dealing with patients, physicians, and our clients;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Able to work autonomously with little supervision as part of a larger remote team;
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing;
- Effective interpersonal and leadership skills;
- Effective organizational skills; attention to detail;
- Ability to consistently meet deadlines; and
- Excellent problem-solving skills; ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently.
