Location: Toronto, Yonge & Eglinton (Hybrid Work - 3 days in office)

The Opportunity –
The Manager Partnerships & Community Engagement role is focused on developing, delivering and maintaining stakeholder relationships and community engagement activities that promote, educate and amplify TVO’s brand and services across Ontario. The Manager will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of a province-wide approach to build stronger partnerships and brand awareness strategies with Ontario’s educational
and learning institutions, learners, and Ontario’s diverse and underserved communities.
How you will make an impact
- Work closely with publicly funded school boards, educational institutions, provincial agencies, corporate partners and non-profit & community organizations to develop and implement partnerships and outreach strategies that increase awareness and support for the TVO’s programs, services, and priorities.
- Support the development and implementation of a community outreach and engagement strategy.
- Develop and implement detailed communications and engagement plans based on the unique requirements of each project and community.
- Manage complex and unique relationships with existing and new external stakeholders to support TVO’s interests in a positive manner that drives product adoption, usage and service awareness to support TVO’s strategic initiatives
- Participate as a member of TVO’s cross functional team to provide advice and expertise on issues related to outreach and community engagement.
- Plan, design and deliver tactics and engagement activities that will generate meaningful feedback with the general public and stakeholder (such as meetings, live events, workshops, open houses, pop ups, focus groups etc.) to encourage public participation, support project objectives, and create an informed public.
- Provide leadership, oversight and expertise in the management, development and implementation of outreach models, programs, and proposals.
- Ensure communities are engaged meaningfully to inspire public confidence in and build support for TVO.
- Evaluate and incorporate internal and external stakeholder inputs to ensure they are reflected in project initiatives to support desired outcomes, improve community relations and building community trust.
- Work with internal and external partners to write and design audience-appropriate communications materials (e.g., newsletters, flyers, letters, etc.) for distribution to the public to build the public’s support for TVO.
- Develop and deliver consultation and engagement reports.
What you will bring to TVO
- Post-secondary education in communications, event management, marketing, education or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 4+ years in a management role with demonstrated experience managing the work of others.
- Functioning knowledge of Ontario educational landscape, including, academic issues, market trends, regulatory environment, established networks and contacts are an asset.
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, conflict resolution and customer service skills
- Excellent verbal and written skills and the ability to interpret information into a written form that is understandable by the general public.
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, including all management levels, external partners, and the public, exercising good judgment and discretion in dealing with confidential or sensitive matters.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize and manage assignments and workload under tight timelines which may be conflicting.
- Excellent communication skills (written & verbal), including the ability to present complex topics both in person, over the phone and online presentations.
- Independent thinking and the ability to work autonomously to undertake engagement activities in support of major projects.
- Familiarity with the use of communication and information technologies for administrative and marketing purposes
- Preference would be given to candidates with additional language competencies (including but not limited to French, Chinese, Portuguese, Tagalog, Vietnamese, Bengali, Hindi, Urdu etc.).
- Preference will be given to Ontario Certified Teachers.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends, as required.
