Job Title: Community Education Coordinator
Duties:
- Develop and implement educational initiatives
- Collaborate with E.D. to ensure curriculum alignment and effectiveness
- Coordinate and schedule educational events & workshops
- Monitor and evaluate the progress and performance of Presentation effectiveness
- Provide guidance and support to students, parents, and teachers
- Stay updated on the latest educational trends, research, and best practices
- Assist in the development of educational materials and resources
- Foster a positive learning environment for students & teachers
Requirements:
- Previous experience in an educational setting preferred
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development and instructional strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, students, and parents
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Proficient in using educational software and technology tools
- Ability to adapt to changing educational needs and priorities
Position overview:
Under the supervision of the Centre Operations Director (COD), the Community Education Coordinator is a position of Christian ministry and is responsible for oversight and management of the SHARE, (Sexual Health and Relationship Education) Program. This program develops critical thinking skills around Healthy Relationships and sexuality. This is a proactive program of the Atwell Centre which educates and supports youth/young adults in making informed decisions regarding sexual health and healthy relationships, and to equip youth to protect their health by planning for positive health outcomes.
Reporting structure: Reports to the COD (centre operations director)
Supervises:
Community education volunteers or staff
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Expresses full agreement with the centre’s Purpose, Mission and Visions Statements, the Sanctity of Human Life Statement, the Statement of Faith and Core Values.
2. Expresses full agreement with the centre’s Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct and Lifestyle Standards policy.
3. Have a minimum diploma or bachelor's degree in an education or healthcare related field, or previous teaching experience.
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:
1. Communication: Excellent communication skills to relate to all sectors of the medical/professional community, public, churches, and clients as a representative of MCPC, as delegated by the ED.

KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCIES
1. Expertise: Have previous experience working with youth/young adults.
2. Computer skills: Exhibits excellent computer skills: website design and maintenance, social media posting, online client marketing, and program promotion.
3. Spiritually mature: Evidences clear practice of holistically integrating Christian doctrines, teaching, and practices into daily living.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works effectively with the COD and key centre personnel to assess, recommend, communicate, and promote centre services and community education presentations in light of Atwell’s vision and mission.
Administration (70%)
1. Act as Atwell’s contact for the schools, church youth leaders and community agencies: a. Prepare digital and print program promotional materials for students, parents, schools and churches. b. Connect and correspond with the representatives from the school or community to promote and schedule presentations.

a. Maintain a file on each presenter including application, criminal reference check, training, police check, and availability.
b. Conduct annual performance reviews for presenters.
c. Available to debrief with presenters as needed.
d. Provide spiritual care for presenters including, but not limited to, facilitating devotions, praying with them, and maintaining openness to spiritual discussions.
3. Oversee Presentations:
a. Schedule and conduct presentations.
b. Recruit and train presenters.
c. Assign presenters for presentations.
d. Ensure presenters follow only approved workshop scripts when presenting workshops.
e. Maintain accurate records of all completed workshops/presentations, participants, and evaluations for program/presenter evaluations and statistical purposes.
f. Order and maintain any supplies needed.
Program Development (30%)
1. Remain current on Atwell’s programs and services.
2. Remain current on community programs and services.
3. Remain current on local and national statistics and evidence-based research available from health providers and governments relating to STBBIs, pregnancy, adoption services, abortions, sexual assault, date rape, pornography, etc.
4. Ensure all presentation materials are sourced by the most current and relevant research.
5. Ensure that all presentations align with Atwell’s mission, vision and values.
All personnel, including staff and volunteers should seek to be a role model in attitude, speech, and actions in their consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ. They should be prepared to explain Atwell’s Christian beliefs and practices to all visitors and callers. They should be prepared to provide resources and assistance, consistent with the Statement of Faith and Mission Statement, to all those who inquire.
