- Bachelor’s degree in business/ finance
- Recognized accounting designation.
- Minimum 5 years cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, using standard or activity based accounting system, including financial reporting.
- Experience with integrated financial/manufacturing software packages, such as SAP, Hyperion, and Capital Management Software.
- Strong Computer literacy
- Microsoft Office (very strong with Excel and Powerpoint)
- Microsoft PowerBi an asset
- Excellent organizational and communication skills in English.

- Manage all financial planning and budgeting for the division.
- Manage the system that reports/reviews operating results, internally/externally, as required.
- Acts as liaison with internal and external auditors as required.
- Help to ensure the operation is legal, ethical, and for financial reporting purposes, follows generally accepted accounting principles and adhere to Magna Minimum Control Procedures/Policies
- Provide financial analysis support and approval of all purchase requisitions.
- Oversee establishment of purchasing systems and monitors day-to-day purchasing processes to achieve budget control and adherence to fiscal policies.
- Review and approve new vendor.
- Support Employees with purchasing details, final price, and negotiation of T&C’s.
- Maintenance of standard cost tracking and allocation system by collecting analysing operation data and establishing standard or expected costs.
- Establish policies and procedures to ensure accurate tracking of material, labour and overhead costs in the plant.
- Prepare monthly departmental analysis of actual results compared to budget and forecast.
- Liaison with the sales engineering department and assist in preparation of business quotations.
- Assist in the review and preparation of capital requests
- Support Engineering team with R&D Project financial business case analysis
- Track all prototype and tooling sales/costs, providing margin analysis and ensuring maximum recovery.
- Prepare any required returns under various tax legislation including HST provincial and federal income tax, R&D tax credits etc.
- Commitment and to promote continuous improvement and take advantage of cost reduction opportunities.
- Other duties as may be required.
