Reconnect Community Health Services is a not-for-profit health service organization in the west end of Toronto. Our services include supports for seniors, caregivers, and people living with mental health and addictions concerns. We pride ourselves on being at the forefront of client-centred care in our sector.
The Lead, Talent Acquisition coordinates, manages and facilitates the recruitment process, working closely with hiring managers, internal and external applicants as well as other HR functional areas and organizational programs. The Lead, Talent Acquisition manages the end-to-end recruitment cycle for multiple vacant union, non-union and management positions. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
What You'll Do:
You will be entrusted with a wide range of responsibilities, including:
- Deliver full-cycle recruitment services across all departments;
- Drive innovative and creative talent strategies, including multi-channel recruitment marketing campaigns, to build robust talent pools and pipelines;
- Define and execute sourcing strategies to identify suitable candidates, conduct pre-screening checks and interviews with hiring managers;
- Manage administrative components related to recruitment activities including but not limited to, job posting/advertising, interview and hiring event scheduling and candidate correspondence;
- Conduct reference and other background checks on selected candidates and review results with hiring managers;
- Provide subject matter expertise to hiring managers to assist in making sound hiring decisions that are in line with HR priorities to meet strategic objectives;
- Collect and analyze recruitment metrics and design recruitment strategies and practices that support business objectives and achieve quality of hire and time to fill targets;
- Maintain awareness of and ensure that the recruitment and selection process complies with all applicable laws, policies and collective agreements;
- Provide guidance and ensure proper interpretation of collective agreements as they relate to recruitment;
- Coordinate and facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation, as well as staff departures.
What We're Looking For:
To thrive in this exciting role, we seek candidates with:
- University degree and/or Community College Diploma in Human Resources Management;
- CHRP designation or actively working towards the designation, is an asset;
- 3-5 years experience in recruitment and retention in a unionized environment, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Equivalent combination of relevant education and recent related work experience may be considered.
- Knowledge and understanding of the relevant provisions of a collective agreement, Employment Standards Act, Ontario Human Rights Code and other applicable legislation.
- Advanced skills in interviewing to be able to accurately predict the success of a candidate for the vacancy and guide the selection process.
- Excellent verbal communications, interpersonal and presentation/training skills in order to collaboratively interact with internal and external applicants, hiring managers and HR colleagues
- Excellent written communication skills to develop job posting materials, advertisements, email communications, presentations, documentation in support of hiring decisions, interview guides and job descriptions.
- Ability to prioritize work effectively, manage a full work load and meet deadlines in a busy environment with frequent interruptions.
- Exceptional customer service skills to support internal and external candidates as well as lead hiring managers in effective recruitment practices.
- Strong computer skills using the Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and proficiency working with an HRIS and Applicant Tracking System.
Special Requirements:
- Criminal background check;
- Must be willing to work flexible hours including evenings, as required;
- In-office position.
