Job Summary
In this role as Senior Customer Service Specialist, you will support the Alberta & British Columbia Sales and Customer Service teams with a focus on providing technical product pricing and quoting support for safety solutions in western Canada. This role has a key responsibility for providing technical expertise to both internal and external customers, that ensures profitable business growth in the region and an exceptional customer experience.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide technical solutions and product support to internal and external customers by working collaboratively with sales, customer service, MSMs, and procurement to build relationships that support and drive revenue growth, market share, and sustainable, profitable business with new and existing clients across western Canada.
- Utilize knowledge and expertise to ensure our Field Sales, Inside Sales, Customer Service, Procurement team, and Sales Managers are equipped to provide comprehensive solutions to meet or exceed the expectations of our customers.
- Support the sales process by providing collaborative support through product sourcing, quoting, problem-solving, presentations, account analysis, reporting, margin analysis, bids and tenders support/management, and price lane review/changes.
- Provide key support for Federal Government contracts
- Attend all company-provided training and vendor presentations to keep up to date on technical knowledge about our products and services.
- Provide support to the sales and customer service teams by collaborating with managers and supervisors to provide coaching, training and onboarding around technical products and solutions quoting.
- Onboarding new team members with a focus on Technical Solutions and quoting
- Other duties as assigned with a Think Team First approach
Ideal Requirements
- 5+ years of customer service experience in a business-to-business (B2B) distribution environment, including working with purchase orders, inventory, product SKUs, shipping, purchasing, etc.
- Experience in the safety industry or a safety-oriented organization and an understanding of a supply chain environment, is a strong asset
- Excellent communication skills and professional phone etiquette
- Effective problem-solving abilities; proven ability to be resourceful and take initiative
- Computer savvy and comfortable in an ever-evolving technical environment
- Solid knowledge of a CRM tool (Salesforce, a bonus)
- Team player with strong people skills and a proven ability to build relationships at all levels of an organization coupled with the ability to work independently
- Strong knowledge of a wide range of safety products and the standards that govern the safety industry
