About Just be Woodsy
Just be Woodsy is a call to action to celebrate and make better use of the trees being cut down in the city of Toronto and elsewhere. We focus on taking logs that the city of Toronto cuts down due to their downtown forestry operations and make furniture and other items from this incredible resource. We are a small socio-environmental company that is aiming to grow and make an impact. By building efficient, user-friendly and innovative systems, we aim to connect Torontonians with the urban forest and improve our relationship with nature.
In January 2024, we will be moving from our studio at 772 Warden Avenue to 55 Milne Avenue, a 10,000 square foot facility, where we will look to scale our business. Currently, we have a truck for retrieving logs, a mill for cutting lumber, a radio frequency vacuum kiln to dry wood, and a full wood studio for fabricating furniture and other items.
Job Description
The person in this role will focus on sales and marketing. Time will be spent doing showroom sales, door to door sales, calling new leads and engaging on social media. The person in this role will be able to genuinely convey the Woodsy ethos and vision, and will be a key brand representative both internally and externally.
Qualifications
The person in this role wants to hone the craft of sales. The role requires someone who is highly personable and likes interacting with people, both digitally and in person. This person is highly emotionally intelligent and good at reading people’s needs in order to close deals and establish new relationships of any scale with ease. Regular sales target reviews will be planned, so experience with setting and reviewing targets and growth is required.
Interest in woodworking and design are a bonus. Or a very quick learner.
Another bonus is proficiency at google sheets or excel.
