Position Summary
We are seeking a candidate with a background in Marketing and Digital to deliver our MKTG 229 Digital Marketing course.
The course focuses on a review of core marketing practice, digital marketing strategy development and history, foundation and application of direct marketing campaigns. Additionally, students learn how to create an organization-wide customer-centric approach to the marketplace along with specific strategies for building long-term relationships with customers (customer lifetime value).
In addition, the course is concentrated on digital marketing. Students learn how to develop a digital marketing strategy; use digital marketing tools, acquire implementation skills practice how to present their ideas and plans. Learning to understand customers and how marketers are connecting with them to achieve measurable results. The course will pay particular attention to:
- digital CRM and content marketing
- web property analysis (strategy, design, and navigation), including SEO
- social media marketing- choosing the right tool and measuring success
- mobile marketing
- web advertising; Google AdWords certification
- data analytics using Google Analytics
- e-commerce and web business models – customer acquisition and conversion
- direct and video marketing
- digital marketing’s relationship to entrepreneurship
The successful candidate will need the experience to teach students the following:
1. Explore the ever-changing customer and technology environments of the digital world and their impact on issues such as privacy, data security and consumer research and media consumption.
2. Evaluate the user design content and the effective use of interactive marketing tools on the web and on mobile devices.
3. Explore the strong connection and enabling nature of digital marketing and e-commerce to entrepreneurship.
4. Explain how analytics, including the application of industry specific tools, can contribute to long-term customer relationships and drive business profitability.
5. Characterize the scope and breadth of digital marketing in the acquisition and retention of targeted customers - specifically using social media and mobile marketing.
6. Analyze email marketing best practices and the historical context of direct marketing tactics.
NOTE: This assignment would commence in the Fall starting September 5 to December 15. The course is delivered hybrid 2-hours per week twice per week. There may be some flexibility from a scheduling perspective for the right candidate.

Responsibilities
- Teach using a variety of strategies to support student-centered learning in an online environment.
- Demonstrate interpersonal communication and knowledge of cultural competency in interactions with the public, colleagues, other professionals and students in internal and external educational and practice settings.
- Develop, revise and adapt appropriate learning resources for students.
- Evaluate student achievement of learning outcomes using a variety of techniques.
- Engage students to create a positive teaching and learning environment.
- Work in a team-based environment.
- Use academic technology effectively to enhance and support learning.
- Provide and promote a respectful and supportive environment based upon the principles of inclusion, equity and diversity.
- Attend meetings and maintain records of student grades/assessments.
Qualifications/Experience
- Bachelors or MBA/Masters preferred in Marketing/ Digital Marketing, or related discipline
- 3-5 years of experience in Digital Marketing role(s)
- Two years of experience managing web analytics platforms (e.g., Web Analytics (GA), Adobe Analytics/Omniture, WebTrends).
- Proven ability to provide leadership, to think critically, and to communicate effectively in a professional manner.
- Ability to utilize creative teaching approaches and current and emerging teaching and learning strategies to enhance student progress.
- A passion for marketing; you learn about the industry, platforms and changes as they roll out.
- Proven teaching abilities (adult education or post-secondary level) and leadership skills with a commitment to academic excellence and student success is preferred.
