Director of Marketplace Operations
As the Director of Marketplace Operations, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our online marketplace's logistics and operations. Your multi-faceted role will require a strategic mindset, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and the ability to balance strategy with execution. From overseeing global logistics and operational goals to collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will be at the forefront of our operational excellence across the marketplace. This role demands strong analytical skills, a data-driven approach, and a passion for continuously improving customer experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute operational plans for functional areas on an international scale, including sales operations, maker community operations, customer service, warehouse operations, and inbound and outbound logistics.
- Scale existing processes and introduce new ones to enhance operational efficiency and customer experience as the business grows.
- Monitor global performance, identify root causes of issues in any market, and work with local teams to implement solutions.
- Experiment with and scale initiatives that improve business operations and profitability including more efficient practices for international payments and services.

- Collaborate with top executives to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and goals that align operations teams with our company's strategy, delivering value to our customers.
- Build and centralize KPIs, goals, and performance dashboards for all revenue-generating teams, while creating your own analysis and dashboards to measure project success.
- Prioritize strategic projects for operational teams; oversee execution and set timelines to achieve goals efficiently.
- Collaborate with internal teams across different countries to ensure quality and responsiveness is maintained.
- Identify process inefficiencies, build solutions, and drive operational efficiencies by collaborating with account management, sales, product, and other teams.
- Collaborate with the Product team to develop tools for suppliers that support self-service whenever possible; improve operating margins when possible.
- Contribute to international expansion projects across various functional areas, including Operations, Finance, Accounting, Sales, and Business Development.
- Continuously seek new product features to enhance operational scaling.
- Ensure compliance with company, federal, state, and local business requirements, taking necessary action when needed.
ABOUT YOU
- Exceptional problem-solving ability and adeptness in using data to identify and prioritize key marketplace activities & opportunities.
- Strong analytical skills with a data-driven decision-making approach backed by meaningful analytical thinking.
- Proven experience managing large teams and solving complex problems in the eCommerce, Finance, and/or SaaS industry.
- Master's degree in business or an equivalent experience.
- Deep knowledge of e-commerce product flow and web store performance optimization.
- Inquisitive, forward-thinking, and open to questioning the status quo while pushing for continuous improvements
- Ability to experiment, iterate, and adapt quickly as you learn new things.
- Experience designing, implementing, and analyzing strategic investments with a track record of driving aggressive growth.
- Ability to build relationships and influence multiple stakeholders internally and externally.
- Proactive attitude, taking ownership, and driving results in a constantly-changing start-up environment.
- Willingness to take on responsibilities beyond the job description and actively contribute to the team's success.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with remote teams.
- Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously, each with specific scopes, schedules, budgets, and quality levels.
Working Hours as a Global Citizen at PBP!
We’re a global company with team members in Canada, Kenya, India, the USA, Turkey, Mexico, UK, South Africa, and Colombia. You will be working with teams across multiple time zones so we expect you to work within your standard time zone working hours, but be available from time to time for team meetings that may fall outside of your regular working hours.
