Financial Assistant
Reporting to the Business Manager, Information Technology Services, the Financial Assistant’s purpose is to maintain financial records for Information Technology Services (ITS) portfolio to reconcile operating and capital spending to the General Ledger. The Financial Assistant is responsible for initiating procurement requisitions for operating and capital orders and is the primary contact for procurement issues, contracts and ITS fixed asset database. Other duties include; creating operating and capital reports for budgeting, management review and analysis. This role supports both LHSC and St. Joseph’s organizations with a total operating and capital budget of over $46 million.
Temporary Full-Time
Rate of Pay: $27.34 per hour - $34.18 per hour
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week
Duration: Up to 5 months
- Successful completion of a 2 year Diploma in Business or Accounting
- Minimum two (2) years recent related accounting experience in a financial environment
- Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Advanced knowledge of software applications ie: Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Access Worthit, ESI
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Peoplesoft Fixed Asset system knowledge, Service Desk Express skills, Pathways Materials Management and Mckesson (HBI) application skills, Email, Internet and Universal Content Management (document repository)
- Demonstrated analytical skills and attention to detail
- Previous experience with financial statement preparation and analysis, business plan preparation and budgeting
- Demonstrated excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Experience in a health care environment preferred
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC’s Mission, Vision and Values
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
Immunization Requirements:
- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis.
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step) and COVID vaccine series.
