The Finance Team manages the performance and risk profile of Bell, ensuring the needs of customers, investors and employees are balanced with long-term business success. We work closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop and execute plans that help the company achieve its strategic objectives and ensure financial sustainability.
The Financial Analyst is a key member of the NTS Finance team, reporting directly to the Senior Manager, NTS Finance. This role includes supporting the monthly results analysis as well as assisting with the forecasting activities. The role also includes analyzing key metrics, as well as developing enhanced value-added financial analysis in order to drive insight and help improve financial and business performance. In order to do this, the candidate will work closely with the finance business primes to understand and evaluate key business trends and influential analysis to help drive EBITDA/Capex opportunities.
The successful candidate will have a finance background; possess strong analytical and technical skills and a clear ability to identify key business trends and issues. The candidate will also have strong communication skills to build relationships at various levels of the organization and the ability to present to senior executives. In addition, the candidate will be proactive, curious and able to work independently or in a group environment to complete specified tasks under tight deadlines within a fast-paced working environment.
- Consolidate the forecasts, budgets and long range Wireless NTS plans (revenues, expenses, headcount and capital).
- Analyze and present monthly results, providing explanations to key variances and recommendations to various levels of management across the Operations and Finance teams.
- Produce value added analysis based on a strong grasp of business initiatives and project activities. The analysis will influence the achievement of financial objectives.
- Work with the finance primes to identify/validate key business assumptions and incorporate them into the monthly outlook/forecasts and the annual budget.
- Identify and implement process improvements
- Leverage knowledge of the business to help provide greater depth on financial performance.
- Assist on special projects that support the business in achieving their financial goals.
- Minimum 2 years experience in a finance role
- An accounting designation or working towards a designation (ie. CPA, CFA, etc…)
- Strong technical and analytical skills.
- Pro-active, curious, results oriented and desire to challenge status quo including streamlining processes to improve both speed and accuracy of reporting and planning.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong sense of urgency and willingness to take initiative
- Ability to manipulate and synthesize large amounts of data in a meaningful format for analytical purposes
- Knowledge of financial systems such as SAP, Business Intelligence “BI”, BPC, Micro-strategy, SQL, Teradata and SAS
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written) and ability to present to senior management.
- Excellent Excel & Powerpoint skills to produce concise presentations leveraging charts and graphs
- Ability to partner with cross-functional operational and finance teams
