This is an exciting opportunity for a desktop software engineer to join a new team within the Institutional Client Group building a modern set of common functional services, frameworks and libraries. These solutions are leveraged by UI application teams across ICG to build rich end-user applications, workflows, and processes.
The Role:
As a software engineer in the UI Platform Desktop team, you will be helping to design, build and maintain the next generation of our flagship desktop application framework. Your solutions will be used by tens of thousands of developers across Citi supporting applications used by hundreds of thousands of internal and external client users, and must be simple to use, well documented and offer excellent developer experience.
This role is for a strong engineer with a strong bias towards simple, intuitive UIs (User Interface), and experience of delivering desktop applications leveraging web technologies using Electron based frameworks and .NET framework. What you’ll be doing:
This is a hands-on technical role, building UI services and solutions that will be leveraged by developers. You will demonstrate sound engineering principles including following 12-factor methodology and a good understanding of modern CI/CD toolsets.
You will be delivering scalable UI solutions that users love by maintaining a culture of quality and engineering excellence.
Who you are:
You are a full-stack software engineer with a passion for building modern, fully observable solutions.
You have solid experience in an agile development environment with modern programming languages and technologies such as TypeScript, C#, Node.JS, etc.
You have rich work experience as a .NET Developer and a good knowledge of .NET infrastructure.
You have rich experience in Web development technologies and are confident in at least one major UI framework or library. and you are confident with technolog.
Nice to have a working knowledge of applications built upon the Electron project and the challenges that Electron development can bring.
Nice to have used vendor frameworks built upon Electron such as OpenFin, Finsemble and Glue42.
You may have had experience with implementing 12-Factor cloud-native applications using open and solutions such as Docker, Kubernetes, and public cloud providers.
You may know some DevSecOps disciplines and have an understanding of CI/CD using modern tools such as OpenShift, TeamCity, Jenkins, Tekton etc.
