As member of the Communications & Community Engagement team, the Graphic Designer is responsible for the creation and management of all creative assets and graphic design elements to be leveraged across Cambrian’s internal channels and external communications channels (excluding web, marketing/advertising).
In the role of Graphic Designer, you will:
- Be required to use creativity, problem solving, and the strong fundamentals of graphic design to execute creatives that will be used in the creation of Cambrian’s online Annual Report, ESG report, social media graphics, and a wide range of other design related tasks that require visual communication.
- Develop, revise, and update internal creative assets and graphic design elements for the Corporate Services teams (Communications, HR, Learning & Development) and initiatives, ensuring conformity to brand standards.
- Assist with planning, research, and requirements gathering for the development of creative assets and graphic design elements for Cambrian’s social media platforms and intranet.
- Responsible for the creation of all communications collateral, including design of Cambrian’s Annual Report, Long Service Award booklet, training and onboarding material, etc.
- May be required to provide assistance to the Digital Product & Marketing leaders as required.
Your experience:
- A combination of post-secondary education in a related discipline and 1-3 years experience in graphic design.
- Creativity and an eye for detail.
- Strong composition, layout, and typography skills.
- Proficient in design tools of Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator)
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications of Teams, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint & Excel.
- Familiarity with user-centric design principles.
- Creative thinker/ problem solver, with a member-centred approach and strong drive to continuously improve and add value to the business.
- Posses the confidence to bring a project all the way from concept to delivery yourself.
- Knowledge of the latest social media and digital trends.
- Ability to multitask and efficiently manage multiple projects with strong attention to detail.
Additional assets
- Strong design portfolio that demonstrates creative strategic thinking – portfolio is required with application
- Experience with Adobe Premier Pro or other video editing software
- Experience working with animated assets
