Cybera is a not-for-profit agency whose mission is to improve the lives of Albertans through the use and advancement of technology, digital literacy and digital best practices. We serve the province’s education, enterprise, research and government sectors.
We are seeking a Human Resources Administrator who will proactively support the HR Generalist and office environment as needed for 4 days (28 hours) per week. The ideal candidate must enjoy working within a small, entrepreneurial environment that is mission-driven, results-driven, and community oriented. You will work independently on day-to-day tasks and projects - no two days will look the same! The Human Resources Administrator must be able to work under pressure to handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with full-cycle recruitment activities: help hiring managers post job ads, set up and participate in interviews, candidate correspondence and screening, draft offer letters and employment contracts;
- Coordinate and participate in our new staff onboarding process and help track probationary periods;
- Plan and coordinate office events and activities with internal and external facilitators, like our Lunch & Learns;
- Assist with various types of communication and correspondence: employment verifications and HR-related inquiries;
- Participate and contribute to our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee, Health and Safety Committee and related initiatives;
- Update employee information in our HRIS (BambooHR) and benefit portals;
- Assist the Senior HR Generalist as needed.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven organizational skills, ability to prioritize multiple tasks, and attention to detail;
- Flexible and can adapt to constant change…we did mention no two days will look the same;
- Must be totally comfortable in a purely Google / Mac-based environment;
- A decisive self-starter with the ability to perform duties with minimal supervision;
- Ability to work with confidential information;
- Effective written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to meet and understand multiple priorities and deadlines;
- Post-secondary education in progress, preferably in a Human Resources stream and/or a genuine interest in Human Resources;
- Great sense of humour!
Nice to Have:
- 2+ years of related work or volunteer experience;
- Experience working in a non-profit and/or technology oriented workplace;
- Previous work experience in a fast-paced environment;
- An interest in technology and innovation.
Compensation and Location:
Our offices are located in Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta. It will be necessary to visit the office/s from time to time.
No relocation costs will be awarded.
