Position Summary
Reporting to the Director, the Human Resources Coordinator supports the HR Business Partnerships, Learning and Development and Health and Safety teams with generalist services and transactional support in Dayforce HRIS. The HR Coordinator will be responsible for supporting projects and initiatives and assisting Advisors in resolving day-to-day human resources issues. The position will also be responsible to lead assigned projects and initiatives as necessary to meet team needs, such as mass recruitment (e.g., seasonal recruitment, elections, census); process and systems improvements; providing transactional support; and policy interpretation and application.
Core Accountabilities
HR Business Partnerships and Ability Management
- Provide professional and technical support to HR Advisors in proactively addressing and responding to day-to-day human resources generalist issues with clients.
- Provide transactional support for Dayforce HRIS functions.
- Support the ability management process
- Build and improve processes and procedures in accordance with best and past practice.
- Perform full scope recruitment and selection, in collaboration with operational managers.
- Lead and/or support projects and initiatives: such as restructuring, layoffs, and recruitment.
- Provide technical expertise and support with MS Office applications, HR programs and software (such as surveys) and coordinating the maintenance of Dayforce HR information system.
- Research, assist and provide guidance on policy, procedures, legislation and best practices.
- Provide transactional support on data retention and information management, position management, processing of forms/information, process mapping, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Maintain consistent formatting on forms, letters, job descriptions and other HR documents.
Learning and Development
- Manage logistics for programs and services.
- Work with the team to coordinate event planning.
- Support the ongoing maintenance and operation of Dayforce (Learning Management System, Engagement and Performance modules).
- Ensure tracking and storage of electronic and paper information.
- Conduct vendor management as needed relative to training design and delivery and employee recognition events and materials.
- Responsible for procuring, administering and maintaining select corporate training programs and partnerships.
- Maintain employee development records and develop and produce reports and statistics as required for assigned programs.
Health and Safety
- Provide support on Health and Safety Information Systems.
- Prepare agendas, take minutes, update actions, distribute and post minutes and actions.
- Book meeting rooms and room set up for committee meetings.
- Process health and safety incident reports, driver time records, training certificates and driver evaluations.
- Provide technical support for Working Alone device program.
- Facilitate safety work boot reimbursement process.
General
- Provide transactional support to the Director, People & Culture.
- Act in a professional and responsible manner to protect the integrity of employees and the business of Rocky View County.
- Display a professional and ethical responsibility to protect privacy, use information appropriately, and maintain the confidentiality and security of all information related to employees, business and residents of Rocky View County.
- Work in accordance with the requirements established by the RVC Health and Safety Program and the Alberta OHS Act, Regulation and Code.
- Take reasonable care to protect their health and safety and other persons at or in the vicinity of the worksite while they are working.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Position Requirements
Completion of a certificate or diploma in human resources or in a related field along with a minimum three years (3) years of experience in human resources, and at least two (2) years in a similar position. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Experience working with Dayforce is an asset
- Ability to learn and use web-based software
- CPHR or CPHR Candidate is an asset
- Municipal or public sector experience is an asset
