The Manager, HR Operations will have a strong understanding of HR best practices, exceptional leadership skills, and the desire and ability to drive operational excellence.
A Day in the Life
This position is responsible for leading our HR operations team by overseeing and managing the day-to-day HR operations, ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of HR services and programs to team members and leaders. This role will drive the execution of the HR strategy, including the development and delivery of key HR programs to attract, retain and develop top talent in the industry.
Additional key responsibilities include:
- Lead and develop a high-performing HR operations team. Provide coaching, guidance, and support to team members.
- Drive the administration of compensation and benefit programs.
- Develop and implement initiatives to enhance team member engagement.
- Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and guidelines in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Oversee the HRIS system.
- Track and analyze HR metrics to assess the effectiveness of HR programs and initiatives.
- Stay updated on HR-related laws, regulations, and industry trends
- Continuously evaluate HR processes and systems to identify areas for improvement and efficiency. Streamline processes, automate tasks, and implement best practices to enhance HR operational effectiveness.
- Develops the execution strategy for HR projects, such as leadership development, technology implementation, change management, and process improvement.
- Manage relationships with HR service providers, including HRIS vendors, benefits providers, and other external partners. Monitor service levels, negotiate contracts, and ensure vendor performance meets expectations.
What You’ll Bring to the Team
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field, or a combination of education and experience. Master’s degree would be considered an asset.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in progressively senior HR roles, preferably in the engineering consulting industry or a similar professional services environment.
- Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.
- Proven experience in talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations and organizational development.
- Proven experience with disability management and the administration of a drug and alcohol policy.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization through effective listening, coaching, facilitation, conflict resolution and relationship management.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems, including ATS and compensation tools.
- Must be willing and able to travel across Canada, US and when required, Latin America. Up to 20% travel in this role.
