ROLE OVERVIEW: We are looking for a passionate HR Generalist & Recruiter who enjoys working on an agile and fast paced team that is fostering a fun and inclusive company environment. This is a part-time to full-time, 12 months, fixed term position. The role will start part-time (24 hours per week) and will ramp up to full time (40 hours per week). The ideal candidate has flexibility in how they would like to schedule their 24 hours per week.
We are a hybrid Vancouver-based studio so are happy to consider candidates from all over Canada to work remotely.
ABOUT YOU: You are comfortable working in a close-knit and collaborative team with a wide range of skill sets and personalities. You enjoy the creative problem-solving process required to bring original concepts and high-profile IPs to life in an immersive experience. You thrive in teams and are open to bringing new ideas to the table to assist in raising the quality bar of the end product.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Full-cycle recruitment including creating job descriptions, posting job ads, conducting screening interviews, scheduling interviews with hiring managers, negotiating salaries, generating offer documents and employment agreements.
- Own the monthly recruitment budget.
- Oversee the funding process for all company co-ops and interns.
- Work with the People & Culture Specialist, Operations Lead and IT to assist with the employee onboarding and offboarding process.
- Provide immigration and relocation assistance to foreign workers.
- Manage employee benefits administration.
- Maintain the HRIS system to ensure that employee records are up-to-date and accurate.
- Act as the company’s brand ambassador to grow and nurture our talent pool by attending recruitment events, career fairs and graduation portfolio shows, in order to facilitate relationships with schools and other professional industry groups.
- Create and improve existing HR processes and tools tailored to the needs of the company in line with changing industry trends and best practices.
- Work with the HR Team to drive ongoing performance management.
- Liaise with the Finance team to provide HR-related documents as required.
- Work with the HR Director to conduct company salary audits and administer salary increases.
- Own the KSA Matrix and provide guidance to employees on how to use this tool to facilitate career progression.
- Identify gaps in employee KSAs to implement new training and development initiatives that enable company-wide upskilling.
- Manage the Time off in Lieu (TOIL) approval process.
- Collaborate with the People & Culture Specialist and Senior Leadership to analyze and respond to employee survey results.
- Contribute towards company meetings and presentations.
- Create HR reports and documentation as necessary.
REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 2-3 years of work experience within an HR/Recruitment role in the creative or tech industry.
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, and labour and employment legislation, such as BC ESA and Human Rights.
- Experience owning full-cycle recruitment and best recruitment practices.
- Experience with extended health and benefits administration.
- Experience with BambooHR or similar HRIS systems.
- Ability to handle confidential information and situations in the upmost discretion.

NICE TO HAVE:
- A degree, diploma or certification in human resources management or related field such as business administration or communication preferred.
- Previous experience working in the games industry.
