The Role Purpose:
The Marketing Coordinator reports to the Executive Director and is the main driver of marketing initiatives for IDS. This role contributes to existing programs while assisting with the development of new initiatives aligned with the goals of the Society. This position will be responsible for promoting a wide range of marketing functions including marketing communications, fundraising strategy, website content, branding, digital marketing strategy, and social media. The Marketing Coordinator is at the forefront of spreading the word about the mission of IDS and garnering donations and support from stakeholders and the community. This incumbent must be an organized multitasker with the ability to handle multiple diverse projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
Reporting and Working Relationships:
· Reports and is accountable to the Executive Director
· Works with the HR Department on crafting internal marketing messaging that aligns with the overall HR and marketing strategies.
· This role participates as a member of the management support team.
Key Accountabilities:
Strategy:
· Assist in developing and implementing the company’s brand strategy.
· Ensure that all marketing efforts serve immediate and long-term business goals by identifying and executing improvements for processes, content, and lead generation.
· Develop and implement creative marketing campaigns.
· Prepare marketing activity reports and metrics for program success.
· Compile market research, forecasts, competitor analyses, campaign results, and consumer/donor trends
· Support the development and maintenance of internal tools, including credentials database, trackers, and global contact directory.
· Build knowledge and education regularly through workshops, research, and seminars, and share best practices and local marketing tactics with team members.
· Collaborate with the various teams at IDS to create engaging content that tells our story and inspires others to join our cause.
· Design and coordinate eye-catching materials like brochures, posters, and videos to showcase our efforts within the intellectual disabilities space.
Fundraising:
· Utilize your fundraising experience to develop strategies that will generate support and donations for our mission.
· Cultivate relationships with potential donors and sponsors within government agencies and the local community.
· Plan and organize exciting fundraising events that will leave participants feeling good about donating to IDS and the people we serve.
Social Media:
· Manage social media platforms, creating compelling content, and engaging with our followers.
· Keep up with the latest trends, hashtags, and viral challenges.
· Craft messaging and create reels, content, and videos that will resonate with our donors, sponsors, and stakeholders.
Web Content Creation:
· Creating and updating content on our website, making it a hub of knowledge and inspiration for IDS
· Ensure our website is user-friendly and visually stunning, using your eye for design to create an engaging online experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field with experience in a similar role
· Knowledge of traditional and digital marketing, content marketing, and social media management to achieve desired results.
· Experience using data analytics for research, reporting, and decision-making.
· Superb communication skills, both written and verbal. You excel at captivating audiences with words.
· Excellent creativity and an eye for design
· Ability to create visually stunning materials that grab attention.
· Familiarity with web content management systems and basic coding skills - HTML and CSS knowledge would be an asset.
· Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and customer relationship management (CRM) tools
· Experience in budgeting and forecasting
