About Us:
Nia Centre for the Artsis the first Black Multi-disciplinary Art Centre in Canada. We are an award-winning nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and supporting the Arts and Culture of the Afro-Diaspora. Our mission is to provide a platform for Artists, Performers, and Creators to showcase their talents, while fostering community engagement and cultural understanding. Since 2020, the Centre has been undergoing a major redevelopment of the 14000 sqft facility to transform our facility into Canada’s first professional Black Arts Centre.

We have been working hybrid over the past year, but in April 2023, we are heading back into our newly renovated facility that is rooted in Black aesthetics. About the Role:
As the Marketing Manager at Nia Centre for the Arts, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic marketing initiatives to promote our facility, programs, events, and overall brand. Your primary focus will be on Project Management and Campaign Management, ensuring the successful execution of marketing campaigns and projects to increase visibility, engagement, and support for our organization when we re-open our doors following our major renovation project in September 2023. Contract Duration: This is a six-month contract with the potential of extension, beginning in summer 2023. There is a potential for contract renewal with this role. This role will report directly to the Executive Director and work closely with one other member of the marketing team.
Core Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with external agencies and designers on marketing materials, including graphics, videos, written content, and other assets, to support campaign objectives and ensure brand alignment.
- Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies and campaigns to raise awareness, increase attendance, and drive engagement with Nia Centre's programs, events, and initiatives.
- Coordinate and manage the planning, execution, and tracking of marketing campaigns across various channels, including digital, social media, print, email marketing, and other relevant platforms.
- Write a wide range of communication materials including website content, social media copy, briefing materials and press materials.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to ensure the timely and successful completion of marketing initiatives.
- Measure, analyze, and report on the performance of marketing campaigns and projects, using data-driven insights to optimize strategies and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Collaborate with the Marketing coordinator and cross-functional teams, including Programming, Development, and Community Engagement, to align marketing efforts with organizational goals and initiatives.
- Stay up-to-date with best practices in marketing, project management, and campaign management, and share knowledge and insights with the team to drive continuous improvement.
Our Ideal Candidate will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field. Additional certifications or relevant training in project management or campaign management is a plus.
- +5 years of marketing experience, with a focus on project management and campaign management. Experience in the Arts, Culture, or Nonprofit sectors is preferred.
- Excellent Project Management skills with the ability to simultaneously manage and execute numerous projects, while also managing the project budget.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing successful marketing campaigns across various channels, including digital and social media platforms.
- Proficiency in using Google analytics and tools like Later to measure campaign performance and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create engaging content and effectively convey key messages to diverse audiences.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for driving innovation in marketing strategies.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships with internal teams, external partners, media outlets, and influencers.
- Proficiency in using marketing software, Project Management tools (Asana), and Content Management Systems (Later).
- Knowledge and understanding of the arts and culture sector, as well as a genuine passion for promoting diversity, inclusivity, and social impact through the arts.
