Your opportunity:
This position will report into the Communications and Planning Officer and will work closely with the OSEW Marketing and Communications team to develop and implement marketing plans to promote various events and initiatives, contribute to the creation of digital communications, coordinate web site updates and conduct photography and videography shoots, as well as edit, to capture the desired results for clients and the department.
Your responsibilities will include:
Developing and implementing marketing plans to promote programs, events and/or initiatives that support strategic objectives- Implementing digital communication plans across a broad range of marketing/communication channels
- Analyzing and recommending options for the development of visual expression/layout of digital assets
- Maintaining information on digital platforms (e.g. web page updates)
- Ensuring the consistency of appearance amongst digital assets
- Conducting photography and/or videography shoots
- Using and modifying standard videography and photography techniques to capture desired results
- Implementing social media campaigns and creating and maintaining presence on social media platforms
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or an equivalent combination of education and experience- Minimum four (4) years of related experience in communications and/or marketing, including maximizing digital communication initiatives, implementing social media campaigns, maintaining digital platforms (e.g. web pages) and conducting photography and videography shoots, along with editing.
- Experience writing and editing digital communications across a broad range of marketing and communications channels
- Experience working with photography and videography equipment, including lighting and set-up for shoots and editing photos/videos
- Experience implementing social media campaigns and maximizing presence
- Experience with website design, content and layout strategies
- Must have experience supervising casual employees and/or work-study staff
- Exhibits superior written communication skills, creativity and has a thorough understanding of best practices in digital communications and social media
- Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Must have a high level of attention to detail and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with team members and establish effective working relationships with a wide range of people from a variety of organizational and social cultures
- Demonstrated professionalism, ability to display tact and diplomacy and maintain confidentiality
- Strong ability to work effectively under pressure and meet competing deadlines

USW Pay Band 11 - $67,659 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $86,523. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
