MARKETING INTERN
- 4 months (Sept 2023 start)
- $1000 honorarium
- hybrid position, remote with some work at event locations within GTA
ABOUT US: TMG is a fast-growing marketing and consulting firm in the sports and entertainment industry with an international presence.
Our talent division focuses on maximizing the potential of our clients, both endemic and non endemic, by developing their brand both online and offline with our industry experts. Tonbara clients enjoy brand relationships with Adidas, RBC, Amazon, Lululemon, McDonald's, Asics, Telus, Bauer, EA Sports and many others.
Our consultancy division works across sports and entertainment properties and with other industry businesses. We consult about brand, sponsorship and marketing strategies. Some of our clients include live entertainment venues, properties, WTA/ATP tennis tournaments, Formula 1 teams, alcohol brands and many more.
Our events division develops, manages events and drives brands through experiential marketing strategies. In addition, we provide staff to brands and other agencies across North America to implement their XM strategies.
The successful candidate will develop sales, marketing and operational skills, including but not limited to, sales strategies, networking, communication plans, resourcing, marketing, negotiation, proposals, the execution of agreements, the writing of agreements with the support of senior management, proposal building amongst many more.
As a start-up, the intern will have the opportunity to gain invaluable experience that will enable the intern to wear several hats at the same time. The intern will report directly to the Founder and CEO and will be given the opportunity to work and develop relationships with other industry partners. This internship will have a lot of nitty gritty behind the scenes work of a marketing and talent management agency, but, with the opportunity to see their work and efforts seen in an impactful manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operations:
- Maintaining clean files and constantly updating our google drive to ensure everything is up to date
- Working with internal and external partners to support the operations of the business
- Maintaining communication with internal and external partners on an ongoing basis and updated management with changes
- Maintaining and updating TMG’s website and social media presence
- Developing content and marketing strategies and execution of those strategies
TALENT MANAGEMENT:
- Communicating with our clients and their external partners to ensure all partnerships and bookings are on track and completed on time.
- Building and maintaining CRM for partnerships
- Identifying opportunities for clients to build business either through partnerships, events, public relations
- Ensuring internal tools are up to date and constantly updated like: Asana, Salesforce, Financial trackers, Google Drive
- Working with talent to come up with content ideas for their partnerships and for their social media/websites.
- Identifying and outreach to potential new talent or brand partners
- Track current and prospective client performance.
- General administrative support as assigned.
CONSULTING:
- Building and developing relationships for TMG’s consulting division to grow
- Maintaining and developing internal and external resources for both TMG and their consulting clients
- Project Management of multiple on going projects with various consulting clients
- Business development and meeting management
- Building on our events via business development
- Support and grow our event staff operations business via business development
- Developing, identifying and implementing marketing and brand strategies for some consulting clients on a regular basis.

QUALIFICATIONS:
To be eligible for internship students must:
- Currently enrolled with a college or university.
- MUST BE FOR SCHOOL CREDIT - this is an unpaid intern, upon successfully completing 4 months you will receive a $1,000 honorarium.
- Interest in marketing, sports marketing, brand strategies, social media marketing, talent management or similar fields.
- Excellent speaking, writing, communication and presentation skills.
- Previous experience in these areas is an asset, but we are ready to teach someone the necessary skills if they want to work in the industry.
- Must be able to adjust to pressure/stressful conditions.
- Must be organized and able to manage time efficiently.
- Knowledge of the national and global sports and entertainment market.

Salary: Up to $1,000.00 per year
