About CASA
CASA Mental Health is an established non-profit organization delivering holistic, culturally-safe wrap-around mental health services to Albertans and their families. CASA provides mental health service to the missing middle – mental health treatment for diagnosed children and youth, in between prevention and promotion in primary and community care, and acute treatment in hospital.
CASA’s team of mental health professionals are trauma experts committed to delivering service in collaboration with community partners. This includes assessment and treatment for up to 4,000 children, youth and their families each year, from community outreach settings to intensive treatment programs.
About the Role
The Clinical Consultation, Education and Supervision team is a collaborative inter-professional group that works to build capacity in mental health services providers through coaching, mentoring, education and consultation. The team supports service providers both within CASA and in northern and rural Alberta.

The Mental Health Consultant will:
- Provide advanced advice/input, treatment direction or alternate perspectives to professional colleagues using a consultative model. Topics may include assessment, diagnosis, treatment plans, discharge planning and potential referrals.
- Create education and training materials for learning events by working collaboratively with the other consultant team members.
- Deliver education and training events virtually and in-person.
- Support the development of knowledge and skill by coaching individual performance.
- Support the development of mental health knowledge and skill by mentoring new children’s mental health therapists.
- Act as a resource to team members and regional service providers on issues related to specific areas of expertise.

Minimum Salary: $44.79
Maximum Salary: $56.85
Hours per Shift: 7.25
Shifts per Week: Monday to Friday
Days Off: Saturday and Sunday
Qualifications
- Graduate degree in psychology, occupational therapy, nursing or social work (psycho-social intervention designation is required).
- Must be a member in good standing with their respective professional association/college.
- A minimum of ten years of direct clinical practice in child and family mental health and/or youth addictions.
- Demonstrated proficiency in children’s mental health assessment, diagnosis and treatment
- Enhanced skills in knowledge translation and education, program design and evaluation and adult learning principles are desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to new or unexpected situations.
- Demonstrated leadership ability with excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to identify barriers and facilitate solution development.
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in all aspects of the discipline including clinical practice, supervision and education.
- Mental Health First Aid or Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is required.
- Valid driver’s license and access to transportation is required.
Conditions of Employment
- A current and satisfactory Child Intervention and Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search. This would be the financial responsibility of the successful candidate.
- A satisfactory Child Intervention Check.
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or exemption on the basis of a protected legal ground.
