NURSE PRACTITIONER
(REGULAR PART TIME)
A regular part time Nurse Practitioner position is available within the Emergency Department at Groves Memorial Community Hospital.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Manager, Patient Care, the Nurse Practitioner is responsible for comprehensive nursing care within the scope and standard of nursing practice for the RN (EC) as determined by the College of Nurses of Ontario and according to policies and procedures set out by GMCH. The NP provides counselling and ensures referral to the appropriate Public Health Department for follow up. This position will authorize directives for RNs/RPNs, ensure accurate and timely records are maintained, write reports, support letters, outcome measurement tools and chart summaries for transfer and/or legal purposes. The NP will also provide clinical leadership to staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To be successful in this role, you will have a BScN, RN (EC) with a Masters preferred in addition to previous experience working as a RN (EC) in an Emergency Department. You have a demonstrated excellence in clinical leadership, patient care and communication. A strong advocate for patients; you have the ability to work independently and interdependently as a member of an inter-professional team with displayed innovation and creativity.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of evidenced based best practice, change management and research practice with the ability to develop the RN (EC) role in this setting and identify ongoing opportunities for role clarity and expansion.
Formal credentialing through the Medical Advisory Committee is required and evidence of ongoing education is essential.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Satisfactory performance and attendance required
- Satisfactory Reference Checks required prior to start date
- Must provide a Police Vulnerable Sector Check
- Must complete a Pre-Employment Health Assessment including providing proof of full COVID vaccination prior to being hired
HOURS OF WORK:
- Must be available for days, evening, and weekend shifts, as per department schedule
SALARY:
- Per ONA Compensation Scale
