Main Responsibilities
This position reports directly to the Chief Global Growth & Strategy Officer (CGG&SO) and is responsible for developing and driving the GG&S agenda. This includes working with the Leadership Team of McCain Foods and his executive leadership team to structure and launch enterprise-wide initiatives. The candidate will be tasked with ensuring that the CGG&SO is prepared with content for all executive presentations and special projects. The individual will need to be a strong “general athlete / utility player” and able to collaborate with the regions and functions to ensure progress on the GG&S priorities.
Global Growth & Strategy Operations lead overall work includes:
Involvement in large company-wide efforts on behalf of CGG&SO- Preparation and content creation of all Board and Executive meetings related to GG&S
- Strategic initiatives
- Develop and maintain structured inventory of critical priorities/activities of interest to CGS&SO
- Follow structured approach for initiative management
- Conduct initiative reviews to ensure CGG&SO needs are communicated, progress is being made, and issues are escalated
- Provide regular updates to CGG&SO on project status and issues requiring attention
- Work with appropriate stakeholders, including outside parties, to undertake analyses
- Present findings to CGS&SO, Senior Leadership Team, or Board, as appropriate
- Oversee, if necessary, transfer of project to other stakeholders in the organization
- Specials projects as required:
- Present ideas for special projects that might advance the CGS&SO objectives
- Scope, plan, and execute multiple, often quick-turnaround projects and requests with minimal outside assistance
- Manage key meetings —preparation and facilitation (E.g. Board and SLT meetings)
- Business performance meetings, work with finance and run items to ground prior to meeting with CGG&SO. Understand business, ask critical questions and connect the dots where necessary.
- Remain apprised of / schedule upcoming CGS&SO commitments
- Ensure appropriate and timely communication to meeting participants
- Ensure meetings have clearly defined agendas, objectives, and participants
- Prepare backgrounders for CGS&SO in advance of meetings, where required
- Ensure participants are clear on expectations, prepared for meetings, including advance distribution of discussion documents
- Participate in meetings and ensure that meeting action items are captured, distributed identified with owners and timing assigned
- Follow-up on action items to monitor progress and drive closure
- Develop/Manage/support effective CGS&SO communication with the Board
It is expected that this role will provide the platform for the successful candidate to then transition into the business after a two-year period. Future roles could be operational, functional, or more of a P&L leadership position, depending on the interest and capability of the individual.

- Program management skills: identification and management of stakeholders, milestone development and tracking of progress, resource management, risk mitigation, detailed action planning, basic familiarity with change management.

- Capability to have an independent point of view; confident in presenting a point-of-view at senior levels
