Greenstone Gold Mines L.P. is a 60/40 joint venture partnership between Equinox Gold and Orion Mine Finance Group formed for the purpose of the joint ownership and development of the Greenstone Gold Property including the Greenstone Mine located on a historical mine site in the Geraldton-Beardmore Greenstone belt in Ontario. The Greenstone Mine is managed directly by a dynamic and experienced Owner’s team, with an estimated $1.5 Billion investment over the three-year construction and commissioning phase, and a 14-year operating life of mine.
Greenstone Mine is seeking a Short-Term Planning and Drill & Blast Engineer to join our team. Reporting to the Engineering Superintendent, the Short-Term Planning and Drill & Blast Engineer is responsible for the overall short-term planning of the mine production schedules and for the drill and blast activities.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE: Collaboratively develop the two weeks plan with wide range of stakeholders Facilitate daily production meeting, directing team focus toward variance and plan compliance Provide commentary on weekly and monthly performance Work closely with Senior Production engineer to achieve business goals Designing, directing and reviewing drilling and blasting patterns Optimizing plans and schedules for pit operations to maximize production Explore new ways to increase drill and blast productivity Working with the General Foreman of the mine to ensure equipment is located appropriately Undertaking projects (ex. equipment selection, drill and blast optimization) as directed and completing them within timelines and to the standards Monitoring drilling patterns, supervising handling of explosive charges, tracking daily explosive consumption Building and maintain drilling and blasting database for future use Assisting in any other job which is regarded as necessary for the smooth running of mining operations as decided by the Chief Mining Engineer or the Senior Mine Technical Engineer

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION
Degree in Mining Engineering
Formal professional designation in appropriate area of expertise, or eligible to apply for professional license
Minimum of 3 years working experience in the mining industry
Excellent knowledge of 3D mine planning and design software
Demonstrating good supervisory skills
Valid drivers license
LOCATION
This position will be on a rotation (14/14) based at the mine site Geraldton, Ontario.
Greenstone Mine provides company transportation from multiple pick-up point locations.
