Show us your organizational and creative side. The Operations Manager role requires a strong ability to plan, organize and communicate in addition to creating important and impactful promotional material/documents for Marquee Theatrical Productions.
Job Responsibilities
Reporting to the Board of Directors, with direct supervisory responsibilities for the Admin, Production and Intructor positions, the OM is responsible for the following:
Operational
- Develop and manage all school year and camp programming annually
- Assist the Production Co-ordinator with production and operational requirements for theatre move-in and tech week for each production.
- Assist with the arrangement of extra-curricular activities as part of camp programs.
- Create programmes for Marquee shows
- Create & print headshot/FOH boards
- School related communications including but not limited to; Finalize & send email communications to parents; camps, classes, productions, activities, schedules, updates, news, wrap up, etc...
- Assist in all production areas including set painting, set decoration, supplies and equipment, costumes, make-up, hair and wigs, lighting etc.
- Represent Marquee at Adult cast productions
- Source, interview & manage teaching artists for youth programming
- Create and manage teaching staff schedules, ensuring proper coverage during absences
- Represent Marquee at events as scheduled
- In collaboration with Social Media role, create fundraising/sponsorship campaign packages
- Create seasonal calendars for all classes and productions
- Handle all room bookings for classes and outside Marquee use
- Attend weekly staff meetings, AGM and board meetings
- Train and review Marquee procedures with all staff
- Participate as a key leader for all events (Street Festival, APA Festival, Haunted Forest, Parades, Fundraisers etc)
- Website updates & communications to designer
- Maintain/create policies, manuals, and training documents
- Organizing Marquee swag/uniforms (orders, forms, distribution)
- Other operational duties as required
Administrative / Office duties
- Responsible for ensuring our admin system is up to date and accurate
- Assist in updating lobby – visuals, etc
- Outdoor displays
- Retrieve and respond to daily phone messages
- Follow up with emails
- Basic cleaning and other hygiene requirements
- Other administrative/office duties as required
Customer Service / Staff Engagement
- Deal directly with parents/guardians in response to calls, emails and walk-in customers enquiring about programs and the registration process
- Defuse issues/complaints amongst children or parents.
- Resolve staff conflicts, performance issues or complaints brought forth by staff
- Manage, log and acknowledge receipt of emails and messages of concern or grievance within 24 hours
- Escalate any unresolved or critical issues directly to Board of Directors and Executive Director for direct response assisting/guiding staff
- Assist the Production Coordinator and Volunteer Co-ordinator with assembling volunteers to assist with productions, community and fundraising events
- Interact with the public when supporting fundraising initiatives which could include, promotional opportunities to sell tickets or market upcoming events
- Other customer facing /staff engagement duties as required
Social Media & Marketing
- Assist with content creation
- Promotion of events to include but not limited to photo ops and video footage capturing as well as editing
- Special Events preparation to include but not limited to: promotional materials/handouts & displays
- Other social media/promotion duties as required
Instruction/Teaching
- Stand in as a staff member as needed in youth programs if illness or extra hands are required.
Education and Experience
- University degree or college diploma in business education
- 3 to 5 years experience leading teams
- Project management is an asset
- Some Marketing experience is an asset
- Effective Communications both orally and written
- Strong Collaboration and Problem Solving Skills
- Effective Time Management Skills
- Experience in the arts is an asset but not necessary
- A valid Driver's License
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $50,000.00 per year
