GROUP FLEET MANAGER
The Roy Foss Automotive Group is seeking an experienced, results-oriented Fleet Operations Manager to lead, manage, and grow fleet operations for our dealerships. This role will oversee day-to-day fleet operations for Roy Foss Chevrolet Buick GMC Thornhill, Roy Foss Chevrolet Buick GMC Woodbridge, and BrightDrop Greater Toronto Area. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 7+ years of fleet management experience and balances strong business development skills with hands-on fleet sales and service expertise.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Oversee all types of fleet business, including fleet management companies, rentals, government, corporate, commercial, ‘fleetail’ and any other relevant accounts.
- Develop and maintain an active list of current and potential commercial/fleet sales and service clients within our market areas.
- Actively prospect potential clients, canvasing local businesses in person, scheduling in-person and virtual meetings, handling warm/cold outbound prospecting calls.
- Develop and execute a marketing plan to promote the fleet operation.
- Develop commercial fleet service business and work with the service department to ensure clients are handled promptly and professionally
- Assess inventory needs and work with dealership management to order fleet inventory for dealerships.
- Manage the fleet drivers in their daily responsibilities, planning their daily routes and tasks
- Work with clients to plan and coordinate all vehicle deliveries
- Assist with the physical delivery of client vehicles as needed.
- Prepare and submit sales and service RFP tenders.
- Ensure all fleet admin work is handled promptly and with accuracy, preparing all dockets, files (including building all deals in Reynolds), keys for delivery, licensing, work orders, applying for CVOR stickers, and handling any other documentation required.
- Work closely with OEMs to ensure we are abreast of important developments in the fleet world and to confirm relevant details for fleet clients (i.e. CA compensation, order management etc).
- Keep track of all client/stock orders in system and ensure clients (and management) is kept up to date on the status of orders.
- Maintaining sales logs and reports for management.
- Manage receivables for fleet accounts to ensure customer payments are current.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- At least 7+ years’ experience in fleet sales and management
- Strong vehicle/product knowledge and the ability to learn new product quickly (GM product knowledge an asset).
- Ability to manage multiple incoming requests, while ensuring they are relayed or handled at the appropriate time, in the necessary order and in the correct manner
- High level of experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Capability to set up new systems and processes in order to streamline business functions
- Exceptional ability to communicate progress on multiple projects
- Highly organized and efficient
- Trustworthy with strong personal integrity
- Forward-thinker who can proactively handle circumstances and situations to head off any crisis situations
- Top notch communication via email and phone, internally and with customers
