Medicine Wheel Publishing has received funding to do mail out program sending a truth and reconciliation book to schools across Canada. Medicine Wheel Publishing is looking for a keen individual to package and prep books to be sent across Canada. Orange Shirt Day, which takes place in September, is our busiest time of the year. We are looking for an individual who can fulfill our shipping requirements as well as offer excellent customer service.
This position is a short term contract position with the possibility to becoming a more full time position after 3 months.
Job Duties
- Package and prep envelopes to be mailed across Canada and beyond.
- Must be available for some weekends/evenings but mostly days or something like that to cover our bases
- Move and package boxes of books, as required. The ability to lift, package and carry heavy boxes.
- Unpack pallets and utilize safety measures to do so.
- Using shopify and other software to prep labels.
- Order stamps.
- Offer excellent customer service including trouble shooting issues and communicating with customers about their orders.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work well as a team and independently.
- Be flexible and ability to excel in a fast-paced and changing environment.
- Must be legally able to work in Canada.
- An amazing positive attitude.
- Reliability.
- Eagerness to make a difference in the world and willingness to learn especially about cultural protocols.
- Ability to work 25- 40 hours per week.
- On occasion assist in our bookstore, at times, that would include a weekend.

Assets to be Considered:
Higher Education
Any Sales and Customer Service experience
Knowledge of cultural Indigenous teachings, protocols and stories.
Considerations:
Qualified Indigenous candidates will be given preference for this position.
Job Type: Three month contract with possibility of becoming full time.
