Job Description
We are seeking a qualified Occupational Therapy Assistant to implement occupational therapy interventions for a small caseload of clients between 2-18 years of age with a range of developmental disabilities.
The position would involve travelling within the community (Richmond, BC) to client’s homes and providing services on site. COVID-19 safety protocol strictly enforced. Direct supervision provided from Registered Occupational Therapist.
As an Occupational Therapy Assistant you will:
- Provide assigned occupational therapy therapeutic interventions
- Assist in modification of occupational therapy care plans in order to grade intervention activities to meet client’s level of function
- Provide functional direction and education to family
- Consult with and report relevant observations of client's condition to Registered Occupational Therapist in writing
- Document delivery of occupational therapy services and client’s progress in treatment interventions as per guidelines established
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience
- Completion of a recognized Diploma level Rehabilitation Assistant Program with Occupational Therapy component plus one (1) year's recent, related experience working with pediatrics
- Professional liability insurance (must be obtained prior to start date)
- Valid BC Drivers License and access to a vehicle
- Professional development in pediatrics and mental health an asset

Availability
- Part-Time (2-3 days per week with shifts of 3-6 hours)
- Must be available on Saturdays and 2 weekdays from 3:30pm-6pm
- Richmond residence an asset
Compensation: Competitive, dependent on experience
