The Ministry of Agriculture and Food’s Food and Beverage Branch leads market and business development activities for farmers, food processors and Indigenous communities as well as key initiatives such as Feed BC, Buy BC, and the B.C. Food Hub Network. Working in partnership with various stakeholders, industry and levels of government, the Indigenous and Entrepreneur Services Unit delivers a suite of programs and services to support current and next generation agriculture entrepreneurs through business supports and resources to enhance the sector’s capacity, resilience, inclusivity, and competitiveness. The Unit leads Ministry programs and services to support the growth and development of youth, new entrants, farm businesses, and Indigenous agriculture and food systems.

The Senior Program Developer, School Food Literacy will be responsible for developing, delivering, and evaluating programs and resources, in collaboration with partners, to foster improved knowledge, skills and competencies related to local food literacy and food security amongst BC youth and their families. The Senior Program Developer is responsible for leading local food literacy projects to support increased in-school learning opportunities that will align food literacy and education with school meal programs and K-12 curriculum. As a part of the Indigenous and Entrepreneur Services Unit Youth Development Team, the Senior Program Developer will also contribute to the development and delivery of agriculture and food education programs and resources in partnership with Indigenous and community organizations.

About this Position:

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
