Settlement Equity Collective Project Coordinator
TNO - The Neighbourhood Organization (TNO) is a well-established community-based social and health service agency providing a wide range of programs and services supporting low-income and newcomer communities across Ontario and sometimes across different provinces through online services and referrals. We seek a Settlement Equity Collective Project Coordinator to join our team in a full-time contract role. TNO is a great place to work and we make a difference in the communities we serve.
You will succeed in this role with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Social Services, and Community Development or any related field. You have demonstrated experience working with diverse communities, particularly racialized populations, in the non-profit sector and some experience with IRCC funding processes. You are familiar with program logic models, monitoring, and evaluation and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Reporting to the Manager, Language and Skills Development, the Settlement Equity Collective Project Coordinator will lead our efforts in supporting local community leaders and grassroots groups working with newcomers and racialized, equity-deserving clients. The Coordinator will focus on grassroots development and capacity building, thereby fostering a dynamic, self-renewing community; the project will support the groups in successfully navigating the IRCC funding processes and competitively applying for funding from both IRCC and other levels of government that support settlement services. As the Project Coordinator, the incumbent will play a critical role in implementing our theory of change, which aims to increase the diversity and representativeness of organizations involved in newcomer settlement and integration. Part of your primary responsibilities will be contributing to the development and delivering training and professional development workshops to participating agencies, covering topics such as the Introduction to Settlement Program (background, objectives, funding) and Settlement Program Logic Model (program theory, components, outputs, and expected outcomes). The Project Coordinator will be expected to Conduct monitoring and evaluation activities to assess the effectiveness of the training programs and make necessary adjustments, curate and deliver equity content that will be used to mentor small racialized organizations, implement a "train the trainer" model to ensure the transfer of knowledge to client-agency boards, staff, and clients. Provide guidance and support to equity ambassadors in effectively mentoring organizations and promoting equity and inclusion.
Vaccination Requirement – You must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, subject to any valid medical or religious exemption from vaccination as provided by the Ontario Human Rights Code.
Screening – As a condition of employment, the successful applicant must complete a Vulnerable Sector Screening.
Job Type: Full-time (35 hours per week) contract position until July 31, 2024
Schedule: 35 hours per week within TNO’s working hours of Monday – Saturday with some evenings and weekends
