Job Description
The Junior Project Manager (JPM) will plan, coordinate, and execute limited size construction projects guided by the Senior Project Manager. The JPM will complete various tasks to achieve the main construction project phases from initiation to closing including site supervision and progress reports.
This position is based in our Hamilton office five days a week, there is no work from home availability.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Perform site visits and prepare preliminary layout and scope of work for client’s approval
- Build and maintain the project schedule using MS project
- Provide the necessary information to all the project stakeholders
- Assist Senior PM with the preparation of the total project budget
- Support the Project manager in the permit process.
- Prepare tender packages, issue RFQs, and prepare the tender grid analysis
- Conduct on-site supervision and inspections
- Coordinate the scope with consultants/contractors to establish the implementation of the client’s requirements and the business needs
- Review invoices/timesheets for project manager’s approval
- Perform other duties as assigned by the senior project managers.
- Travel to different project sites as required
Qualifications
- Construction Management or Civil/Architectural Engineering Degree
- Capability to draw sketches and preliminary drawings in AutoCAD
- Proficiency in MS Project
- Experience in geotechnical is an asset
- Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought
- Capability to travel to sites for visits and inspections
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Awareness with the governmental authorities related to the local construction projects
- Knowledge of the municipal and provincial permit process
- Ability to read and interpret engineering sketches, design drawings and specifications.
