Reporting to the Director of Design Delivery, the Design Branch of the Ministry of Highways is seeking 2 highly motivated individuals with excellent engineering, interpersonal and consultative skills to join their team in Saskatoon.
As a Senior Project Manager, you will assist the Director in the delivery of the capital and major preservation programs including resourcing, training, scheduling, designing and tendering. The Senior Project Manager must assess the scope of each project, analyze the required resources and the timing of each project, and monitor implementation of project management plans necessary to safely, efficiently and effectively complete the work. You will support and act on behalf of your Director at meetings to determine provincial interests on long-term infrastructure goals and objectives, including working with internal and external stakeholders.
As a Senior Project Manager, you will provide leadership to a team comprised of Project Managers and Technicians to successfully manage project risks and quality and meet project deadlines.
To qualify for the Senior Project Manager position, you must be eligible to register for membership in the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS), have several years’ equivalent experience and general knowledge of project management, asset management, maintenance and preservation, operations, design, hydraulics, construction, contract administration, and contract law.
The ideal candidate will bring creative and innovative solutions to complex issues. The Senior Project Manager will apply professional engineering concepts, principles, practices and standards used in the planning, design, construction and maintenance of the provincial highways and associated works to ensure the effective delivery of the Ministry’s capital and major preservation programs.
