Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Project Management Technician to join our team!
As a Project Management Technician at Parsons, your role is to provide technical project management coordination and support for the day-to-day functions of project delivery. You'll ensure the timely and budget-conscious completion of assigned projects. Being part of project teams, you will engage in all stages of the project management lifecycle, from initiation and planning, through execution and control, to close-out on infrastructure projects.
For this role, the ideal candidate will possess one of the following educational and experience backgrounds:
- An Undergraduate Degree or higher in Business Administration, Engineering, or related fields, along with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience; OR
- A Diploma or Technical diploma in Business Administration, Engineering, or related fields, accompanied by a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; OR
- Secondary school graduation (or equivalent) and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
Preference maybe given to applicants with a Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or those eligible to obtain one and who have experience in infrastructure related projects.
- Participate in the planning, implementation, and successful delivery of delegated components of projects as a crucial member of our project team.
- Monitor project activities and keep track of various project parameters such as scope, schedule, costs, risks, quality, communications and stakeholder engagements, procurement, changes to human resources, and integration change management on projects.
- Perform detailed tracking and analysis of projects throughout the project lifecycle.
- Direct contracted resources, oversee the delivery of services against contract terms, resolve routine issues.
- Contribute to the development of project management documentation, by identifying, collecting, verifying, analyzing, and compiling data.
- Prepare technical reports, including network diagrams, Gantt charts, and work breakdown structures.
- Support in preparing and presenting project status.
- Aids Project Managers in conducting meetings with involved team members, agencies, local governments, and interest groups.
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource during meetings and presentations with stakeholders to prepare and provide project information, which may include attending stakeholder engagement meetings.
- Organize and manage public open houses in affected areas as the representative of Parsons' project team, and respond to public inquiries about project concerns and progress.
- Collaborate with a project team composed of representatives from various internal and external business units, and affected outside stakeholders.
- Assist in reviewing and preparing detailed design plans, including contractual documents.
- Prepare project progress reports, and forecast budget expenditures.
- Facilitate project planning sessions with project manager and team members to identify clear project goals, objectives, scope, deliverables, and performance measures.
- Respond to standard queries raised by the public and/or stakeholders.
- May take on the role of Project Manager for projects as needed.
- Assist on internal project management controls to mange client needs.
- Contributing to building relationships with clients, and working on client proposal documentation to ensure successful award of new projects.
- Working with the internal team to grow our Project Management Skills and knowledge to successfully deliver for our clients
- Proficiency in project management methodology, adhering to the standards set by the Project Management Institute.
- Solid understanding of project scheduling, including proficiency with MS Project software.
- Comprehensive knowledge of project cost tracking and spreadsheet applications, primarily through the use of MS Excel and/or other cost tracking programs.
- Broad knowledge of Microsoft Applications.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
- Capability to work independently, exhibiting strong self-initiative and determination.
- Demonstrated tact, discretion, and judgment in liaising with internal and external clients, consultants, contractors, and the public.
- Experience applying Project Management Methodology as practiced by the Project Management Institute, demonstrating your ability to navigate complex project dynamics with agility and precision.
- Hands-on experience in project scheduling, particularly with the use of MS Project Software, enabling you to keep our diverse projects on track and on time.
- Proven experience in project cost tracking using MS Excel and/or other cost tracking programs, contributing to our focus on efficient resource management and cost-effective project delivery.
- Experience in risk-based contingency management, helping to ensure that our projects are resilient and able to adapt to unforeseen challenges.
