Environmental project management specialist for Mitigation programs


A number of different environmental mitigation measures are required by the conditions associated with federal approval of the Roberts Bank Terminal 2 (RBT2) project. These measures include those that are intended to mitigate the environmental impact from the project on different species at Roberts Bank during the construction and/or operation phases. We are seeking environmental project management and/or technical expertise in the development of select measures. Specific responsibilities would include:



The successful candidate must have a bachelor of Science or another acceptable university degree, coupled with a minimum of 5 years of project management experience with environmental assessment (or recent environmental practice) and technical requirements on large capital infrastructure projects, preferably within marine or port environments. Experience in range of environmental disciplines and in design and implementation of environmental study programs, and familiarity with both federal and provincial environmental regulations and jurisdiction would be an asset. Particular experience working on permitting applications, such as Fisheries Act Authorization and Federal and BCEAO Environmental Assessments would be an advantage. Experience and/or knowledge in Envision and LEED accreditation would be an asset. Experience working with multi-discipline engineering and science teams and/or PMP certification would be highly desirable.


This position requires excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to liaise effectively and positively with all contacts, internally and externally. Must have an excellent command of the English language, both oral and written. Demonstrated project management, including budget management, analytical and problem-solving skills, along with strong team building and conflict resolution skills are required. Must possess excellent computer skills with the ability to work independently, accurately and on own initiative to maintain work output. Must be a highly organized, detailed individual who can manage competing priorities.


Normal office environment including some exposure to the waterfront and construction sites, in any weather conditions, may be required. Occasional evening and weekend work during off hours, to participate in public meetings and open houses.
