Travel Trade Sales Coordinator (14 Month Contract)

This position compensates at $51,640.84 to $61,664.86 per annum as well as a comprehensive benefit and pension package.
Please note this position is required to be on site in Niagara Falls, ON.
Under the general supervision of the Director, Sales and within established policies, procedures and guidelines performs coordination for the Travel Trade sales markets. Assists with developing and maintaining travel trade accounts that generate group and fully independent travellers (FIT) revenue for Niagara Parks attractions, retail, culinary, and golf departments. The individual will excel in a fast-paced sales environment.

Qualifications:
Education: Completion of post-secondary program preferably in hospitality and tourism sales and/or marketing or the equivalent knowledge and experience. Excellent typing skills and proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with working in CRM environment. Valid “G” Driver’s Licence required.
Experience: At leasttwo years of experience working with travel trade markets ie: group tour operators, sightseeing operators, school groups, SMERF groups (Social, Military, Educational, Religious and Fraternal) and a variety of other group organizers. Knowledge of sales procedures for booking attraction, retail, culinary and golf group reservations, considered an asset. Exemplary sales and customer service skills including communication/interpersonal skills both oral and written. Problem solving skills and ability to perform duties with a strong attention to detail. Strong time-management and organizational skills are required. Proven team player and ability to multi-task in a high-pressure sales and service environment. Ability to exercise tact and courtesy in a professional manner.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key Activities:
- In consultation with the Director of Sales, assists with planning, developing, and executing the domestic and international sales plan targeting domestic tour operators, group leaders, sightseeing operators, educational markets, online travel agents, international receptive tour operators.
- Develops and maintains domestic and international client accounts thru telephone prospecting calls, outside sales calls, fam tours and client entertainment.
- Execute expenses with approved budgets separately for domestic and international travel trade sales.
- Ensure travel trade client accounts receive accurate information in a timely and professional manner
- Maintain travel trade client account contacts and ensure account information is up to date and accurate in CRM.
- Analyze account issues and take appropriate action to ensure clients service needs are met if not exceeded; makes recommendations relating to matters beyond the scope of authority.
- Arrange and conduct familiarization tours and presentations for travel trade clients.
- Prepare travel trade client gifting for fams, sites and marketplaces.
- Prepare for and attend travel trade marketplaces as requested.
- Generate weekly travel trade revenue reports for Director, Sales.
- Work with Director, Sales to submit marketing creative briefs for travel trade collateral materials and advertising requirements.
- Conducts prospecting calls to new and existing clients assigned by the Director, Sales.
- Upsells Niagara Parks products and services to achieve and exceed team sales targets.
- Process and track incoming signed contracts for travel trade clients to ensure internal operator account lists are update on accurate.
- Maintain strong relationships with Niagara partner Niagara Falls Tourism and assist with fam tours.
Additional Duties:
- Participate and contribute in sales meetings.
- Prepare travel trade client proposals and contracts as requested by Director, Sales.
- Maintain sales kits and USB sticks as needed.
- Assist with proofing marketing materials.
- Respects and complies with all policies and procedures.
Performs Other Related Duties
- Must be willing and able to work variable shifts as required and schedule to fulfill the requirements of the seven-day operations.
