Job Description
The National Sales Manager – Agricultural Commodities, ensures the successful performance and revenue generation of MSC Canada across the Agricultural Commodities vertical. They are responsible for establishing contact with new and existing customers, identifying new opportunities, and developing and implementing effective strategies for the team.
Reporting to the VP, Business Growth, the National Sales Manager – Agricultural Commodities will develop effective sales strategies and ensure their timely implementation. The individual will also analyze sales data for trends, while also keeping up with current industry and economic changes and trends including those of the competition.
Key Accountabilities
- Renewed focus on growth with a new Team approach directly responsible for the Agri commodity P&L. Volume and Customer Evolution.
- Phased Client Onboarding/Management – Start with all Eastern & Central Region followed by Western Region.
- Champion Agri customer relationships and acquire new Customers.
- Explore and secure local revenue streams.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including local Trade teams, Client Services and Logistics and Operations to develop mid- and long-term strategies, champion customer relationships and secure customer needs.
- Secure opportunities for Group Companies increasing Stickiness.
- Lead on certain special project to explore Joint venture opportunities with Agri Customer base.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years’ sales experience within the transportation/shipping industry.
- Enthusiastic and passionate about the industry.
- Demonstrated ability to meet sales targets.
- Ability to think strategically and have a proactive problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to build and maintain effective networks.
- Must possess strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to produce results under pressure.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills: can build and leverage relations; adept at growing productive business relationships.
- Effective written skills using a concise professional business style in both official languages.
- Commercial and entrepreneurial mindset with understanding of the Industry/Business.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent applicable shipping/ business experience preferred.
