Job Description
Cornerstone Co-op invites applications for the position of Agro & Energy Sales Representative to join our Home Centre team on a full-time basis at our location in Wainwright, AB. This position will assist in the growth of energy and agriculture commodity sales through strengthening existing customer relationships and forging new ones. Reporting to the Home Centre Manager.
What you’ll do:
- Engage and interact with member-owners and customers to provide outstanding Co-op experiences.
- Call-on and develop new customers and retention of current existing customers.
- Meet and grow Fuel and Energy Product line Sales with Farm and commercial accounts, propane, fuel tanks, accessories and Oil and lubricants.
- Meet and grow Agro sales in farm equipment (bins, augers) and feed. Identify opportunities to expand in future Agro growth.
- Track opportunities and customer follow up with our customer relationship management software.
- Communicate professionally with suppliers and act as a facilitator for the resolution of product complaints.
- Report on pricing, price checks, ordering and inventory of agricultural and petroleum supplies and equipment.
- Attend training sessions in areas of both professional and personal development as required.
- Be knowledgeable and able to present quality information on fuel, lubricants, propane and agriculture supplies and equipment during information sessions, trade shows and community events.
- Prepare and participate in sales budgeting and forecasting in both Fuel and Agro.
- Travel across Cornerstone’s trading area
- Perform cold calls and strategic contacting of new and existing farm and ranch customers to provide information on farm products and solutions.
- Able to work a variety of shifts when required.
- Demonstrate day-to-day behaviours and actions that align with and strengthen the Co-operative's vision, mission, values, brand and focus on safety.

Who you are:
- You experience in agriculture sales/fuel sales or have education, a diploma or degree in agriculture would be considered an asset.
- You have knowledge of grain handling equipment (augers, grain bins, etc.) and animal feed (commercial and retail)
- You have knowledge of fuel products (top tier fuels, propane, oil and lubricants)
- You have strong problem-solving skills
- You have a class 5 drivers license and can provide a clean driving record
- You’re able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- You’re honest and trustworthy, are results-oriented and strive to be the best in what you do
- You believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives
