Job Description
The Firearm Sales Lead is a role model with additional responsibilities as a Leader on Duty on designated shifts. During those times, Sales Leads will oversee the total operation of the department, which includes but is not limited to leading a team of associates and enhancing the customer’s experience while achieving the store sales goals. Their close partnership with the management team will enable them to gain the additional knowledge and skills required for career advancement.
Responsibilities:

- Demonstrates strong interest and credible expertise in our product assortment; translates this knowledge into value for our customers. Guides Firearms Sales Associates to do the same.
- Prepares the store: effectively stocks and coordinates daily stocking process, actively handles merchandise, executes visual directions, and ensures a compelling presentation.
- Adapts presentation based on changing inventory levels, new products, promotions, and market conditions (weather, events, etc.).
- Identifies areas of opportunity and acts on them as it relates to inventory accuracy, price accuracy, and product stock levels.
- Delivers inspirational experiences for our members and customers through effective promotion of outdoor programs and outreach.
- Trains and mentorsnew staff, provides direction to peers as necessary, coordinates service delivery, and task execution.
- Reviews sales performance daily with the manager and reacts immediately to opportunities and performance deficiencies.
- Trains and coachesteam on merchandising, visual presentation, and customer service tactics that will enhance sales.
- Handles and resolves escalated customer issues.
- Coaches and trains the team on visual presentation standards and their impact on sales and customer service.
- Ensures endcaps, plan-o-grams, and topicals are set per direction and make an “in-stock statement” for our customers.
- Adjusts presentations based on sell-through and ensures price and sign accuracy.
- Ensures presentation and safety standards are in place throughout the day to make shopping easy and enjoyable for our customers.
Skills and Requirements:
- Minimum high school diploma, GED, or equivalent education.
- 1-2 years of retail sales required; retail management experience and a college diploma in Business Administration, Commerce, Accounting, or related field preferred.
- Firearms Possession and Acquisition License with Restricted endorsement (required).

- Basic math skills sufficient to complete orders, calculate inventory, and manage cash registers.
- Ability to reach overhead, bend, squat, kneel, and carry products in order to perform and cover all work floor duties.
- Able to give clear directions and set expectations for staff.
- Demonstrated ability to lead by example.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software programs.
- Strong customer management and leadership skills.
Hours and Pay:
Full Time hours: 36 + per week (Current hours of operation 10:45 AM – 5:15 PM – Tuesday to Sunday).
Pay: $17+ per hour.
