Location : Security (KW & FREEPORT)
POSITION : Part- Time Security Officer (7 positions)
HOURS OF WORK : UNITED STEELWORKERS (USOA)
Summary :
Hospital Security Officers maintain a high regard for the rights of all hospital patrons & the laws governing those rights. Our team endeavors to preserve & maintain an environment where diverse social & cultural values are allowed & accepted. Some major services our Security team provides include; twenty four hour Security coverage of the hospital with a dedicated officer in the Emergency Department, immediate response to all Hospital Emergency Codes, asset protection, maintaining a safe environment for Patients, Staff, Physicians & Volunteers, access control, issuing parking infraction notices & assisting clinical staff with patient care as required. Contributes to ensuring there is a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.
Qualifications :
- Grade 12 education or equivalent
- Valid Ontario Security Guard License required
- Must have 2-year Law and Security course or equivalent combination of experience and education
- Ability to communicate with the general public and other Hospital staff and external emergency personnel
- Good oral and written skills
- Ability to walk or stand for long periods of time
- Must have CPR and First Aid Certificate
- Ability to make decisions in emergency or stressful situations
- Must be able to prioritize workload
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- Excellent computer skills
- Some mechanical abilities
