About Us
The Indigenous Centre for Cumulative Effects (ICCE) is an Indigenous-founded, Indigenous-led, and exclusively Indigenous-serving organization that supports Indigenous communities in addressing cumulative effects through a Two-Eyed Seeing approach. Our primary objective is to build and enhance the technical and scientific capacity of Indigenous communities across Canada, based on the values of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities. As a resource, we provide funding for community-led projects, share knowledge, and link Indigenous communities together, working towards intergenerational decision-making and partnership building.

As Senior Head of Marketing, you are a recognized host of stories that speak to Indigenous audiences. You live the passion for fostering community and create compelling content for Indigenous communities. You thrive in being a part of a collaborative team environment, you value input from diverse backgrounds and areas of expertise to tell a compelling story that relays an organization’s mission that matters to you.
Key traits:
- Significant experience in Indigenous communications
- Deep understanding and experience with the many Indigenous cultures of Canada an asset
- Strong communication and storytelling skills
- Experience in marketing, community engagement, and content creation
- Ability to develop and execute marketing strategies
- Ability to process decision making by building data-informed cultures
- Close attention to detail
- Known as a host or Master of Ceremonies
About the Role
As a Senior Marketing Director at the Indigenous Centre for Cumulative Effects (ICCE), your primary responsibilities will be to develop and execute culturally relevant marketing strategies that helps ICCE achieve its mission. Leveraging your Indigenous communications experience, you create compelling content through various channels, including social media, video, animation, email campaigns, and the organization's website, to raise awareness of ICCE as a resource for Indigenous communities and help Indigenous communities across Canada tell their stories to each other as well as Canadians. In working with the ICCE team, you will build a firm understanding of our audiences to tell effective stories in the appropriate media that can speak to specific cultures or broadly across the nation and across generations.
In addition to your marketing expertise, you will support organizing and participating in community events, webinars, and other outreach initiatives that resonate with Indigenous audiences. Because you care about the integrity of your work as well as ours, you will reflect on your strategies and adjust them accordingly.
Requirements
- 5-7 years of experience in marketing, communications, or a related field, with a strong focus on Indigenous communications
- Demonstrated experience working with Indigenous communities and a deep understanding of Indigenous cultures
- Emotionally intelligent and thrives when working with community
- Strong all around communication skills including writing in many medias for many types of audiences, storytelling, and content creation
- Experience in developing and executing marketing strategies
- Proficient in using various digital marketing tools and platforms
- Ability to organize and participate in community events, webinars, and outreach initiatives
- Team player with a collaborative approach and ability to work with diverse backgrounds and areas of expertise
