Job Description
A Server coordinates the entire service station and communicates with front of the house and back of the house personnel to provide a dining experience that exceeds guest expectations. Functionally reports to the Restaurant Manager.
- Greets guests and presents them with the menu
- Informs guests of specials, menu changes, answers questions regarding food, beverages and allergies
- Receives food and beverage orders from guests and relays to kitchen staff and bartender using a POS system
- Communicates with the hosts, table support team, kitchen staff and bartenders to coordinate stations
- Presents, open and pours wine and beer when serving guests
- Assists table support team with stocking work stations, removing and resetting used dishes/silverware
- Assists with cash register at counter-service restaurants
- Performs other duties as required or assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Knowledge of the sequence of service and dining room procedures
- Excellent communication skills
- Basic math skills
Job Requirements
- Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule often including evenings, weekends and holidays
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting
- Smart Serve Certified
