The Restaurant Expo sets the pace and organization for efficient food delivery to restaurant guests. The primary point of communication between the dining room and the kitchen, the Expo is a very organized individual who remains calm and collected when the dining room gets busy and is able to balance competing priorities. The Lead Expo is also responsible for guiding the Support Team, providing direction and supervision when necessary.
Key Accountabilities
- Primary point of communication between kitchen team and front of house
- Supports the successful execution of service
- Experience in Hospitality and/or Customer Service is an asset
- Remain alert and conscientious to our guests and their needs and work to accommodate any requests to ensure a luxury experience.
- Take direction from the dining room and kitchen teams
- Understand the composition of each menu item as well as the ingredients and allergens present in each dish.
- Assist servers with table maintenance by removing courses when completed; replenishing utensils; refilling water glasses, resetting tables as required.
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency while remaining poised during peak periods and seek out additional tasks during slower periods, such as polishing cutlery or glassware, assembling items necessary for reset, etc.
- Communicate and be an example of Isabelle’s core values by demonstrating genuine and thoughtful hospitality in the day-to-day execution of duties.
- Embody a great service culture and create a high level of service standards and excellence
What we would like you to bring to the position:
- Restaurant or customer service experience is considered an asset
- Ability to work weekends and nights
- Take direction and instruction well
- Willingly accept additional tasks as required for the effective functioning of the work unit.
- Communication: Listen attentively to guest's questions and requests. Effectively share information about guest requests with the Restaurant Manager or Servers
- Organization: Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks as necessary.
- Personable: Professional appearance, positive and proactive attitude, and exhibits genuine and thoughtful hospitality in all interactions.
