FLYHT is looking to add a hands on Team Lead to our Embedded Software Development team. The successful candidates will embody our core values:

We think aviation, aircraft and related operations are fun, challenging and interesting. Previous experience in this area is awesome but isn't required (it's contagious once you get here). You love coding, you thrive on experimenting, solving problems, and implementing. You can't help but to roll up your sleeves to help the team on the implementation side. You have appropriate technical training and work experience as well as a strong desire to continue to grow in your technical skills and leadership. You have worked in an Agile (Scrum) environment, or you are excited to try it for the first time.

We’re looking for (not all required)
- Internet of Things (IoT) implementation experience
- Extensive experience coding experience required. C/C++/Python/Java/Java Script are languages we use. We apply the best tool for the job.
- Experience with Linux distributions such as Ubuntu, Yocto and OpenWRT
- Support of Linux and RTOS BSPs
- Development of unit tests and system testing software tools using simulated or real hardware
- Terraform, GIT, CI/CD.
- Good knowledge and understanding of different development methodologies, practices and tools such as code repositories, testing frameworks, release practices, continuous integration, and automated build servers
- Successful track record of implementing embedded software products
- Proven track record as a lead, providing guidance and leadership while being a member of the team
Assets (not required but would be looked at as differentiators)
- Knowledge of aeronautic industry
- Knowledge of avionic software development guidelines (DO-178, DO-278)
- Experience with satellite-based communication protocols
- Experience with cellular and/or Bluetooth based communication products.
- Experience in test automation and automated code coverage analysis
- Knowledge of and experience with common aircraft data buses such as ARINC 717 and ARINC 429
- Experience simulating connected devices and systems
- AWS IOT Greengrass experience is especially an asset
- AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification and others
- Remote system management (firmware management)
- Experience building serverless systems
